PWInsider.com is extremely saddened to report that former ECW World Champion Sabu, one of the most vibrant and groundbreaking professional wrestlers of his era, Sabu (real name Terry Brunk) has passed away.


We are working on additional details at this time.


Sabu had just worked his final match over Wrestlemania weekend in Las Vegas on 4/18, defeating Joey Janela. He appeared last weekend at the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance reunion show convention at the 2300 (ECW) Arena, which appears to have been his final public appearance.


I can and will be writing a lot more about the life and career of Sabu.


On behalf of everyone associated with PWInsider.com, I'd like to send our deepest condolences to Sabu's family, friends and fans. He was one of a kind and changed professional wrestling forever.

The movie the wrestler was a cautionary tale not something to aspire too.
A promoter should have some sense. I am going to be that guy and say they probably killed him
60 year olds with that much mileage shouldn't be doing those bumps and being all fucked up on drugs isn't going to help either. Randy the Ram was not an inspiration.

Tanning, mainly. It gave Hulk his infamous leather skin.

The Hulkster did more drinking and drugs.

People also tended to look older in the past.
