This. At the beginning of the gen, I really thought this would be a close one and that MS could pull it off, outside of Europe at least because that's Sony country.

What's even crazier about this is that the PS5 seems to be more on a downswing at this point, so what would 1/5 of a downswing be called?
This gen has been a wonderful example of the momentum platforms gain overtime as consumers get locked into their digital ecosystem. So many people bought PS5s because they already own so much PS content from their PS4 and have no real choice. It sure as hell isnt cuz there are new 1st party games. It also further reinforces that allowing MS to buy ABK was the fair thing to do as they still have a damned near impossible challenge to steal consumers form Sony.
We may feel a little disappointed in what the new gen has offered us overall, but I think at least for the average consumer, the PS5 is a fantastic PS4 ProPro. So it still makes sense as an upgrade for anyone who is invested in the PS4 ecosystem, like you've pointed out.
