Hello fellow degenerate weebs!

I took a look at the OP-thread and nobody seemed to have claimed an anime-thread, so I'll be doing this one for the just now starting new season! Most new series just had their fist week, some already are at week 2, so it's high time to start talking about all those new, fresh anime series!

As always, you can look up all the new series on AniChart, just click HERE to view the current Spring Season 2021.

I have no idea how many current users are watching anime, but I hope to see some of you participate in this thread, posting a short (or long) opinion on the latest episode of the anime you're watching. Feel free to also post your watch list, which might also contain older anime - always interesting to look back, as good anime don't age. <3

Anyway, have fun and don't be afraid to show your weeb side!

- Koi to Yobu ni wa Kimochi Warui
- Hige wo Soru, Soshite Joshikousei o Hirou
- Fumetsu no Anata e
- Mars Red
- Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu Yori mo Kusoge
- Super Cub
- Cestvs: The Roman Fighter
- Zombieland Saga Revenge
- Bakuten!!
- Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu Season 2
- Kumo desu ga, Nani ka

I think that's how not summon demon lord 2.

I'm watching how not to summon a demon lord season 2, so probably watching that. And so I'm a spider so what?
-Kumo desu ga, Nani ka
So I'm a spider is pretty good, best from what I've seen this season, also I liked the first season of demon lord so watching that.

Also Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! I think its by the same guy who did konosuba, and has similar vibe only in a scifi setting. The fact there's a loli main character here too, and with a more prominent role than the loli in the last series is starting to give me some suspicions about the author.

Kumoko (Spider girl) is my favorite anime currently. I hate spiders, but this happy-go-lucky cute spider that's fighting for her life - I can't get enough. Could watch it for hours, just her leveling up.

I'm still waiting for the first episode of Cestus, the plot sounds very intriguing, but the CGI-visuals could potentially ruin it all.

Megalo Box Season 2 is super high quality, of course, and it's exciting to see where it goes.

Already dropped Nagatoro, because that was just pure bullying in the first episode, and not the fun kind. Don't need that shit.

I enjoyed the music from Mashiro no Oto. And while that singer guy is a total scumbag, it's interesting that the anime seems to keep him around instead of pushimg him out of the plot because he was a "bad guy". I hate bad guys as much as anyone, but I also believe it's more interesting to accept that people can have bad sides and good sides. So that guy cheated on his ex-gf and tricked her for money. Let's see if he has some good qualities, too.

Batkuten is my guilty pleasure-series this season. I've watched many boys-idol anime, the synchronous dance performances are always fun to watch, and this time it's rhymic dancing. Will be fun. The hero learning how to do a flip at the end of the episode was super nice, felt really motivated then.

Not a strong anime-season from first glance, but one that has lots of enjoyable series.

I've recently gotten into watching anime, but I don't watch much. I watched AOT last season. This season I will be checking out Eighty Six. It sounds interesting so I hope it is good.

Poor Jolyne. Getting a bad rap because of what happened to her arc.
I should probably put it in the OP, but: Pls no manga-spoilers! No hints, either. No worries, but feel free to make a thread for manga readers if you want to discuss content that hasn't been shown in the anime. Thank you.

That's weird because Jojo storylines are not the newest thing around. A few more years and it'd like watching ancient star wars movies and get bothered by knowing that you read in some corner of the internet that Darth Vader is Luke's father.

But I'm not spoiling anything reagarding this Jojo arc. Only manga readers or someone who read a wikia page would figure out exactly what I'm saying.

Nomad - Megalo Box 2:

Man, such a great anime again. Feels like a cut up-movie quality-wise. I'm a bit bummed that Joe apparently will only be a trainer ... but I'm also hyped that he's gonna be trainer, lol. Hope he hooks up with the hot chick, she's nice :> The kid is fuck annoying, though, can't stand these superfluous side-plotlines.

Cestus: The Roman Fighter episode 1:

As expected, the CG is terribad, lol. Like a small improvement on the infamous recent Berserk-anime. The wussy presentation of the hero is questionable, too, makes me wonder how anyone in his position in that time could be shy and introverted, no time for that. But that's typical anime sanitization, I guess. I will keep watching, though, because the setting is fine and underused. Ancient Roman times ,yay. Also interesting: I googled boxing during Rome, because I had never heard about that even though Latin was my favorite subject during school. Turns out this "sports" is called specifically "fist fighting" and not "boxing", because while you use your fists in both, this Roman style is waaaaay more freestyle. As can be seen by the blonde boy at the end, who basically uses an entirely different fighting style.

Fumetsu no Anate e episode 1:

Ugh, that was a downer. :/ I kinda hoped he'd heal the boy at the end, but ... oh well. This can go in any direction, but it was interesting enough to make me watch more.

is there anything worth watching nowadays? any horror?

You need to ask for another genre, I think. Horror might be THE worst genre for anime, lol. I just searched for some, and outside of the usual suspects from Junji Ito and some gore-y anime, there's not much. Horror exists more as an element in anime of other genres. Say, Knights of Sidona absolutely is horror when it comes to many scenes, but overall it's a scifi-anime. Then there's "Monster", which is a drama/psychological thriller, but also has plenty of eery scenes.

So, unless horror is the only genre you watch in general, better ask for something else and we might find you something you'd probably enjoy :>

Tokyo Revengers episode 1 and 2:

Wow, this might be the surprise of the season. When I first read the synopsis, I was curious. Then watched the trailer and it looked kinda lame. But now I binged both episodes in one go and would love to continue watching. It's kind of a mix of slice of life, isekai and Steins;Gate. I recommend giving this anime a try if you thought there's nothing good this season.

Takemichi Hanagaki's life is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it couldn't get worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals that has been disturbing society's peace for quite some time.

Wondering where it all went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself travelling through time, ending up 12 years in the past—when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing he has a chance to save her, Takemichi resolves to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and climb the ranks in order to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate.

86:

Didn't have that one on my list, but damn, why nobody told me that this is this season's Sawano-anime? :D Watched it asap and yeah, it's good. Not phenomenal so far, but a good watch with a nice Attack on Titan-esque scenario and good music. Should be fun.

Fumetsu no Anata e episode 2:

A very different second episode, but ... this feels good. I'm not sure how I'll feel if that little girl dies, too, and if all the people the "thing" meets die, because I usually need a strong protagonist to enjoy an anime. But this was good. All the side characters had so much personality in them. And the little girl just makes me wanna protect her so much :( Knowing that if you run away, either your little sister or your best friend will replace you as a sacrifice.

Mashiro no Oto episode 4:

Speaking of sacrifices, a very similar scene here this week: During the flashback, the little girl saying "My dad died a couple days ago, so it's okay if I die, too". OOF. Can we, like, stop putting little girls in these heart-breaking situations, dear anime-makers? >_< Otherwise this anime continues to entertain, although I wonder how the manga looks like lol.

Fumetsu no Anate e episode 3:

Masterpiece. Wow.

This is the kind of a unpredictable adventure-story that I've missed in anime for so long <3. Episode 1 was emotional, episode 2 opened up the possibilities, and episode 3 seized the chance and finalized its potential. If this quality can be kept up through to the end, this will be one of those anime that everyone recommends for the foreseeable future.

I almost cried when "Fu-chan" turned into a wolf and started attacking that fucking bear monster. SO good. And when the bear would slash away at the wolf, guts spilling out, but instantly healing ... soo good.

I have no idea where this story will go, but that's what has me hyped, too. For once a story where you don't know about the end goal from the beginning.
