Katsuaki Tsuzuki, Producer: "Hello, everyone. My name is Katsuaki Tsuzuki, the producer of One Piece Odyssey. I am very glad to make an announcement about our new One Piece game here today. I hear that not only the fans in Japan, but also the fans from overseas are watching this, so I would like to talk about the attractiveness of this title."

What is One Piece Odyssey?

Tsuzuki:
"The title's genre is JRPG. It's been a while for One Piece. I hope to deliver an epic drama adventure of the Straw Hats which both One Piece fans and JRPG fans can experience and enjoy."

How this Project Started

Tsuzuki:
"I have been thinking that one of the most fascinating points about One Piece is the 'adventure,' so I thought that a 'JRPG project offering a One Piece adventure experience like never before' would be very interesting. So with the question of, 'What should a One Piece adventure offer?' and the concept of an 'epic adventure to experience the One Piece world' in mind, we collaborated with a development team who held know-hows of creating a full-blown RPG. The fruit of this long-term collaboration is One Piece Odyssey."

Involvement of Eiichiro Oda

Tsuzuki:
"As I said before, this project's concept is the 'epic adventure to experience the One Piece world.' It was necessary to expand the accessible places for players and we wanted to be as true as possible to the original work. So we asked Mr. Oda for his advice, and he designed the characters and monsters to vitalize the in-game One Piece world."

The Attractiveness of One Piece Odyssey

Tsuzuki:
"This title's characteristic is that it's a JRPG. We have devoted ourselves to creating an in-game One Piece experience that encompasses the 'epic adventure to experience the One Piece world.' We have integrated the artwork designed by Mr. Oda and the diverse settings that the art team created to elaborate the One Piece world based on the manga and anime settings already developed until now. As a result, we are confident that we have prepared realistic and immersive stages for adventure. And this title's most appealing point is being able to go on an adventure through these stages by using the Straw Hats. On top of the adventurous stages, unique One Piece RPG experiences are scattered throughout the game, such as the story woven by Straw Hats, the dungeon experience, and various quests. They will be introduced to you gradually in the future.

Message to the Audience

Tsuzuki:
"One Piece Odyssey, the latest One Piece title revealed to you today, is probably the first title that has been developed so meticulously over an extended period of time. I would like to share more about this title's attractive points in the future. Please look forward to it."

@brap, @Franky Family get ITT!

Hope we see more anime adapted games at least attempting to go big and or channel Dragon Quest XI. Heck people thought World Seeker would be a massive step up from the usual fare, but everything I've heard about it is lukewarm at best.

Kakarot could have been this for DBZ but sadly fell flat from what I hear. Ditto Black Clover, Seven Deadly Sins and Fairytale also from what I have about those games, which set in more western themed settings then the norm for Shonen Jump (though certain genres may be shifting that a little like the influx of Korean Muhwa.)

Would really like a Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto, Hellsing RPG on this scale.

I hope it's not yet another "everything was a dream" like just about every story involving people shipwrecked on a island.

The Straw Hats have gotten shipwrecked like every other arc. It should be fine.
