Octopath Traveler has been rated for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

As spotted by Gematsu, Taiwan's Digital Game Rating Committee recently classified the game for Sony's consoles, suggesting an official announcement could be imminent.

Octopath Traveler was released in 2018 and has sold over three million copies across Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One and Stadia, according to publisher Square Enix.

It released Octopath Traveler 2 in February 2023 for Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam.

The PlayStation versions of Octopath Traveler were classified in Taiwan alongside the Xbox Series X/S version of Octopath Traveler 2, suggesting several announcements are being lined up.

Coinciding with Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show broadcast last September, Square Enix revealed plans to bring its RPG sequel to Xbox consoles and Windows PC in "early 2024", but this has yet to happen.

eXputer reported this week that Octopath Traveler 2 will be made available on Game Pass this month.

Porting Octopath 1 to PlayStation 4/5, Octopath 2 to Xbox Series in a very sudden timeframe is hopefully a very good sign of continuing good reception and interest in the series, and is also a major potential sign Octopath III has been greenlit and is under development.

Oh, nice. I'll play it now. I only own a Switch so I can not touch it, I guess.

I honestly thought it was already released on PlayStation. Still have to play the second game, waiting on a decent sale.
Octopath Traveler 1 (On Xbox also but likely moving to PS4/PS5), Bravely Default 2 and Triangle Strategy are all Switch/PC though this rumor shows a possible overall shift in Square-Enix's overall strategy.

Yeah, they mentioned releasing more multiplatform games, including their back catalogue, not too long ago.

Patch for Octopath Traveler 2 just shadow dropped and apparently added-

new post game Super Boss fights against the Cast of Octopath Traveler 1, among others.

Honestly be careful if you haven't played it, its beautiful and the voice acting is good, but the stakes feel low and disconnected between characters and it can get super repetitive.

Stuff like having to examine every towns person in 4 different ways becomes a bit tiresome every time you come to a new town

So yeah, is it to safe to say Octopath Traveler III has very likely been greenlit and is in development? Don't think Square-Enix would bother with altering the copyright with Nintendo, so they could release both Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 on all current platforms if the franchise was not in a good position.

Is it better than Octo 2 cause I find it one of the most boring games I've ever played.

Hell no. These games are made for people who play jrpgs for the story only. Playing these games, I felt like I was starting the game over 8 times. Blah blah blah blah blah. OMG, shut the fuck up and let me play. Nope, now you start a NEW character!!! Blah blah blah blah......

Finally. I wanted to try 2 but I refuse to play it without being able to play 1 on PS5.
