Alright PAD BOIS. I need one of those box thingys that I can hook my lap top up to it and it displays on my monitor. But I also can have my keyboard (and mouse) in it as well. I have another PC that I also want hooked up to my monitor and if possible another screen.

Does this exist? So basically I plug my laptop into it and then its hooked up to my monitor and my keyboard, which would also be connected to my regular PC which is also on the same monitor.

At my work we have something like that where I just plug my laptop with USB or that Dualshock controller charger cable thingy and bam the keyboard that was not hooked up to my laptop worked and I could extend it to the desktop.

Where do I buy one?

You mean a KVM? You can use the same keyboard with mouse on different computers?

Thats what I am looking for

at my new office they had a box you just plug your laptop into it and then you can extend your lap top to the monitor, and the keyboard that was hooked up automatically worked with my laptop as well.

Its probably some sort of HDMI/USB box convertor or something.

You can have a usb-c dock, which adds your existant monitors and keyboard/mouse to the laptop, if you don't want to switch the usb-c cable than a kvm switch is what you would look for but they're really expensive, like in the hundreds.

I think USB-c dock is what I am looking for. I doubt my office has 50 KVMs for every desk.

Thanks a lot gonna check Amazon for one now.

So I basically have that setup at home. My gaming desktop is plugged in to the display ports on my monitors and my usb dock is plugged into my HDMI ports on my monitors. The only thing is they run separate keyboard and mouse combos. My gaming PC is setup on fancy razer shit and my work computer is on Logitech wireless stuff that sits in my desk drawer when not in use.

You can also use keyboards and mice that have a Bluetooth device toggle if you are cool with that for gaming. For instance my Logitech k&m setup can connect to three separate devices that you can hot swap between at the press of a button. I have it connected to my desktop, laptop, and steam deck.

Its gonna be strictly for work and then my "home" PC. Its an old desktop no gaming (thats what the PS5 is for).

Basically just don't want to have to unplug and replug my PC/Keyboard every time I work. And I hate laptop keyboards and the tiny little screen.

I have a BT mouse with dongle. So I am thinking of just getting a wireless keyboard.

Basically don't want to have 2 keyboards and 2 mouses and have to switch HDMIs every time I want to work on my laptop.

Oh and also looking to maybe add a 2nd monitor to have a 2 monitor set up for my work.

Then yea, just get a USBC dock and a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse that can swap between 2 connections. They are fairly cheap on Amazon. I got my combo from Costco for 40 bucks and have no complaints.

Any recommendations on what to get? I would like 2 or 3 monitor and 1 keyboard+Mouse.

I noticed they all have 1 HDMI port, would that be enough for a dual monitor set up?

I don't know which docks are better than others. My dock for my laptop was provided by work and does the job well enough. It's a big bulky thing from targus.

As for keyboard and mouse I got this one and have no complaints. (Although mine was 40 if I remember correctly.) https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/combos/mk850-wireless-keyboard-mouse.920-008219.html
