It almost never fails, KAT gets injured every season and misses about 15-25 games or more. Julius Randle is a monster and I think the Timberwolves were smart to bring him in. They also got Divicenzo which is a plus
Yup. Charles Barkley is saying it too, GMs everywhere pass up on great players all the time. This kid is an absolute killerLakers sneakily picked up the 2024 Rookie of the year Dalton Knecht, kid is an all world shooter and the exact missing piece to their formula.
Wow, that ref in the link you posted is packing some pillsbury buns. I no longer think much about Joel Embiid because he's an absolute force, but he's injury prone and not the smartest player. The game is every bit as much mental as it is physical. He's a dominant big man, but I don't think he's that guy. Never got the feeling that the 76ers were ever poised to win under Embiid's leadership. I don't know if he's able to push his teammates and inspire his teammates enough to win a championship because as good as he is, at the end of the day those are just amazing stats for the 50-60 games he plays. Being a championship caliber superstar usually entails putting in the most work. There are guys who are playing a lot more games than him and I think his teammates know it's an uncertain season given his history to injuries. Unfortunate, but I don't think he's got that championship blood in himWas excited for this matchup....Embiid is a washed up pussy, should've never let him get a gold with USA, only award he'll ever win

Alright I gotta say this and maybe it's me being just something of a Lakers homer but I think there's some validity in what Lakers coach Reddick said in general about the decline in ratings about the 3's and this:
"I don't think we … have done a good job of storytelling, of celebrating the game," Redick said. "If I'm a casual fan and you tell me every time I turn on the television that the product sucks, well, I'm not going to watch the product. And that's really what has happened over the last 10 to 15 years. I don't know why. It's not funny to me."
This is 100% a shot at TNT and by that I mean Sir Charles. And to that note both are 100% right.
I respect Chuck's opinion because he's 100% right in that the roster is nothing more than a play-in chaser and not a real championship contender. I absolutely agree with that assessment.
However as somebody who watches NBA every day it's on from any broadcast I can find, JJ Reddick is completely on point in that Chuck's takes are worn out.
When there's a shitty Thursday NFL game do the announcers tell you "WE GOT A SHITTY PRODUCT TONIGHT!" no they don't, they may be 100% dishonest in their sales pitch but they aren't trashing their own brand. In that regard Chuck is trashing the brand. The repeated statements just turn you off from wanting to watch the product.
5-10 years ago Chuck was a little younger and brought more gas to the show than just mouth, same with Shaq. Getting a little too old and loud and not being funny enough. Admittedly I've started watching the games and less TNT broadcasts which used to be my favorite regular watch.
The problem is that Chuck is right about the state of the game. It's not fun to watch. Besides a handful of guys, everyone plays the same. There's no creativity. It's two guys in the corner, one guy with the ball. Two other guys running picks. Every single time down the floor it's some variation of that. Every game is essentially a three point contest. You've got teams taking 50 3s a game. It's not interesting. I'm sure it's the correct strategy analytically. But it's not fun as the viewer.
Then you add the fact that almost every single team makes the playoffs or the play in, and nobody cares about these games. Even the players don't care, as evidenced by the fact that don't play. The league is heading for a tough future because advertisers aren't going to continue to pay top dollar for games no one watches. Their hope has to be that streaming services will continue to shovel money at them to put their games on.
@Bullet Club do you think Keldon Johnson on the Spurs will be traded before deadline?
