Ridiculous. Preposterous. They say the current going rate is around $8mm per WAR. This means he needs to get 95 WAR for the Mets for this to be worth it. That's 10 years at the level he played at last year, with the last 5 being crappier-ish as he will be old. Almost no chance this happens.

But it's Uncle Steve's money, not mine. So I can't help but be somewhat excited about it.
