Thread: Marvel got jealous of The Acolyte: Agatha All Along
Are you guys really surprised? The writers room at Marvel, much like Lucasfilm, are probably filled with a bunch of middle aged single feminazis who want a character to 'represent' them, and Agatha Harkness fits the bill. They tried the same shite on characters such She Hulk and the Scarlett Witch and ended up ruining them. At least this feminist dreck will be focused on a obscure Marvel supporting character no one has cared for in the past few decades.

It's been 5 years since Endgame.
You'd think that maybe they would get the idea into their heads to reboot some of their more popular characters by now.

I think when people walked out of Endgame NOBODY was thinking a good place for the MCU to be in five years would be launching content like Echo and "Agatha All Along". LOL.

Don't give them any ideas.

Black female lesbian Iron Mamm and Captain South America coming right up.

I think Disney was planning an Iron Heart reboot and Flacon as Captain America movie but they have been getting destroyed so they probably shelved it.

It seems like their TV shows were probably leading there. With Sam as cap. She Hulk replacing the Hulk. Wasp taking Ant Man's spot and Shiri as the new Iron Man. Gwen was probably going to be introduced as the new Spider Woman.

The Falcon Movie is still going ahead after numerous rewrites and reshoots, and is rumoured to have cost over $350m so far, before any marketing, so expect it to need to take over a billion globally before it actually makes any money.

It's going to be great.

I'm not watching the trailer so apologies if this view is at odds with it, but Agatha is a really interesting character. Certainly more so than Echo/Moon Knight and others that have got a TV Show. I'm looking forward to this.

Portrays a villain as a hero, diverse female cast of ugos, one very gay white guy as the dumb comic relief, overly serious tone and cartoonish, garishly coloured special effects all over the place, clearly aimed at women despite not catering to women's tastes in any way shape or form.

Yep, that's a modern Disney production alright.

And I actually enjoyed Wandavision, at least until the last few episodes. While it was a warm, camp bit of a love letter to old TV shows and the great ideasnof The past it was genuinely fun and engaging.

This just being more of the dull mumbo jumbo filled political crap the finale got bogged down in, is absolutely not selling it to me.

I didn't watch Moon Knight, but I'm guessing they royally fucked it up if you are saying Moon Knight isn't interesting. Nice work, Disney.

But they had a literal gamma ray empowered wahman twerk with Megan Thee Stallion in her law office.

What more stories are there to tell that isn't actual capeshit?

EDIT: Just read @Hostile_18's reply.

I'll give the definite ratings of them all tomorrow. If you like Dead Pool you'll like She Hulk, unless you get triggered very easily lol.

I've liked most of the Marvel shows......I did enjoy She Hulk which I know alienates me from most of your opinions but I enjoyed it on it's own. Marvel has finally beaten me down though.....I don't watch everything anymore. Didn't/wont watch Echo and I'm really on the fence with Agatha.

1. It's a stupid fucking character
2. It's an adaptation of a stupid fucking character
3. Literally nobody wants this but Kathryn Hahn who knows maybe even she doesn't but money is money.

In my typical asshole apologist format for bad material the ONE and ONLY thing I can speculate that they are releasing this show is for some type of future buildup around Hexes/Curses/Magic which leads to some tie in to Dr. Doom. If for some reason this doesn't lead us towards the direction of Dark Magic and a bigger bad then gun to my head Marvel I have nothing left for the MCU and will keep my ass in the comics.

Wanda Vision (5 Stars)
Falcon and the Winter Soldier (3 Stars)
What If (1 Star)
She Hulk (4 Stars)
Hawkeye (4 Stars)
Moon Knight (2 Stars)
Loki (3 Stars)
Miss Marvel (3 Stars)
Echo (N/A, Haven't seen).
Groot (N/A Haven't seen),

That's how I'd personally rate them. Hawkeye is probably the biggest achievement, because he's one of my worst characters, but the show was really good). "What If" I just can't get on with Cartoons.

@Calcium @WesternBlood Get ittttt.

I'll rate what I watched at least an episode of before I had to give up. Thank god my sister in law gets this shit free from her work so I didn't have to pay for any of it.

Wanda Vision (4 Stars)
Falcon and the Winter Soldier (1 Star)
What If (2 Stars)
She Hulk (1 Star, 2 episodes)
Hawkeye (1 Star, 3 episodes)
Moon Knight (1 Stars 2 episodes)
Loki (2 Stars, 3 episodes)
Miss Marvel (1 Star, 1 episode)

I've not even bothered opening the app in the last year. Disney Plus isn't even worth it for free for me.

I think the movies of Phase 4/5 have been largely worse than the tv shows as well. So you might need a half star award!

The only Marvel Movies I've Watched since Endgame are:

Black Widow (1 Star)
Spiderman Far From Home (4 Stars)
Spiderman No Way Home (5 Stars)
GotG 3 (3 Stats)

Everything else can be considered 0 star, since between Disney+ and my cinema membership I wouldn't really have to pay for them, so it would need to be total dogshit to not even tempt me to spend a few hours on it, especially with how cold and wet British weather has been over the last couple of years.

I'd give No Way Home 3 Stars, this makes you more of a Marvel fan than me ;) Agreed on Far From Home and Guardians 3 (which was disappointing compared to 1 and 2).

Black Widow seems harsh at 1 star, the worst cinema has to offer?

Black Widow was an insult to the character, waste of an opportunity to undo her retarded death in Endgame, had an incredibly woke and nonsensical plot, terrible characters, absolutely ruined Taskmaster, and tried to make Florence Pew a replacement Black Widow. 1 star is if anything being generous.

And I'm a fan of Spiderman, not Marvel.

No Way Home might have been 80% nostalgia bait, but it was clearly made with love for the characters and previous movies and with a mind to give fans as much of what they'd always wanted, with all the left over dangling threads tied up and 'what if' questions that regularly get discussed by the fandom answered, as possible. Hell, it retroactively made Amazing Spiderman 2 better, by fixing Electro's character arc and allowing that Spiderman closure over the death of his Gwen Stacy.

All 8 Spiderman movies are going to be back in Cinemas this year, and No Way Home is the perfect end cap for them, that ties 3 different universe's narratives together, and gives 2 Spidermen the happy endings they deserve, while letting the current one have an opportunity to grow and become as well rounded a character as he should be.

I didn't enjoy No Way Home as much because as you mention it relies too much on Nostalgia. Nostalgia for nostalgias sake is never good IMO and makes the movie rely too much on films outside the MCU to be good. I didn't like Sandman's (I think) out of no where heel turn (he wanted to get back to his daughter so made little sense) or how the swat team would suddenly open fire on Spiderman trying to save Aunt May. The scene with all of them together in the apartment felt like a Saturday night skit. It wasn't a bad movie, just flawed like Guardians 3 was.

With Black Widow I never like bringing characters back from the dead, so super glad that didn't happen. You can maybe do it once, for one character per franchise and get away with it, but any more and you just lower the stakes for the full franchise. It's like many fans want Iron Man back, but that would totally undermine his amazing journey and ending. Flourance Pough is a really good actor and plays a great character, I find her better than Black Widow in all honesty. Still the plot was mid and the bad guy terrible and the "misunderstanding" stinger at the end was so stupid. It was entertaining enough, so I think average 3 stars is appropriate from me.
