Nintendo will release Mario Kart 8 Deluxe "Booster Course Pass" Wave 4 this spring, the company announced.

Yoshi's Island, a new course, is zooming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe "Booster Course Pass" downloadable content.

Birdo, who originally hit the track in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, is also being added. Returning characters from the Mario Kart series will be added in future waves.

Wave 1 launched on March 18, 2022 followed by Wave 2 on August 4, 2022 and Wave 3 on December 7, 2022. A total of six waves are planned for a total of 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series, due out by the end of 2023.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now for Switch.

So one more around the summer than a holiday one and Switch 2 in March of 2024. Timeline would match up. MK 4K as a launch title

Question is how lazy is Nintendo. Do they just repackage MK8 and the DLC and "up rez" it to 4K or do they actually make a new game with new assets....

I think we all know the answer.

Cool that they are adding in an extra charcter. Maybe the last DLC will introduce a new mode or something ?

Wave 5 summer time June-August.

I can see them using Wave 6 as a way to keep some players while they announce Switch 2 maybe around Oct since Wave 6 can come out in the last quarter of the year.

Switch 2 in March, latest April.

I wish they would do away with the cities, but I understand that it's a necessary element to incorporate into the series at this point

More lvls ought to be like Yoshi's Island

Think it's just a crossover thing with the Mario Kart Tour stuff as a way to try to entice mobile players into picking up a Switch (if they don't have one) and Mario Kart 8D. Plus, it's easy double dipping on all those MKT levels since they don't require much effort.

Looks awesome. I'll wait until their done selling it so I can get teh fool game.

How well do the courses blend in with the original tracks in terms of quality? I'm waiting until they are all released before I get stuck in.

Perfectly.

There's some very minor graphical differences for the Mario Kart Tour tracks where certain shaders or textures don't quite live up to the tracks that are original to Mario Kart 8D, but eh who really cares. They all play great. The new fully original tracks are generally very awesome. I'm loving it. I don't play it all the time, but every time we have friends over or a new booster pack arrives, we jump right in!

This booster pack is 60% trash, all the Tour maps are awful abortions that aren't even CLOSE to the quality of MK8 maps. The retro maps are still fun, but some boosters have TWO shitty maps from the F2P Tour.

The new original maps are OK, but it's not their TOP quality.

Out of all the cups so far, there's only been ONE solid cup, through the other cups there've been one or two good maps, but thanks to retarded Nintendo you can't just make your own cup with all the best maps.

If you wait until all the cups are out, you'll get close to the $25USD value, but if you upgrade to the shitty expansion pass you get the booster "free" with it.

I get the feeling you're like the head of marketing at NoA.

As much as I LOVE all the new tracks for MK8.... I fucking HATE the way have doled this out. Just make it one or two big DLC drops and then move to a new game.

I used to feel this way about the Tour tracks but I started to really like how they mix up the route (somewhat) on each lap. A few other courses like Peach Castle DS have a similar gimmick.

The courses I hate the most are the "segmented" tracks where you are doing one long one-way races.

Remember this is DLC for a Deluxe edition of a Wii U game…

Mario Kart 8-finity coming to Switch 2 with 108 new courses over 4 years, subscription customers only 🌝 👌
