Thread: LONGLEGS STARING NIC CAGE - JULY 12
Strong dislike. Opened strong with great cinematography but floundered in the middle and I felt it dragged.

Movie was well done but not my cup of tea. Wish I would have watched it at home.

It left me wanting.

Nic Cage was the best part and, when/if you see it you'll see why that's what effected the movie's quality as a one go in a theater. One part got me pretty good, but it was largely because it was so violent given it's context.

Did not leave satisfied (neither did the rest of the audience... audibly so)- I'll give it another watch once it's streaming because I missed some interesting background items. Might be more of a deep dive movie. I also want to identify where it went wrong as a horror/thriller film, walked away thinking it missed some marks it could have easily gotten.

Okay. Just saw it. I wouldn't call this horror or a psychological thriller. It's just sort of weird. The plot is messy and the movie is just boring for long stretches. The opening was pretty incredible but even that led to nothing. Cage played his role really well although I'd like to have seen more of him. I don't want to give much away but there was a great movie somewhere in there but it took a left turn and never got back on track for me. This would be a 2.5 out of 5 for me.

Fell into the "good not great" camp.

Movie was made really well and all the acting was solid. Tone and thick atmosphere are the best aspects and I like that they push it in your face. Problem is I just didn't find the story told all that great, especially the later portion when we find out what's going on. It's "fine" but nothing standout.

Also I found Nic Cage to be a double-edged sword here. He's certainly giving a performance and seems to be having a lot of fun with it, so I can see why many are enjoying him but I find it impossible to see him as creepy or sinister. He's too entertaining and no matter the make-up or crazy voice, it's always so clearly just Nic Cage that it kills any illusion. It's like if it was Arnold or something, I just couldn't see past it. =S

Just finished it a moment ago. I liked it, but I'm afraid I let myself overhype it. Cage was pretty great, but the story was like @OuterSpace said. Good. Definitely creepy moments for sure. Looking forward to watching it again this week.
