Huh that's interesting. The game already got a current gen update, so that can't be it. Why else would they show that? Exclusive DLC would be rather unlikely...

If they bought Kojima's new company, then they must have done the same thing that they did with the Bungie deal - pay a ton extra to ensure that the staff remains in place for years.

You can't buy Kojima Productions and have him bounce out a year later.

Instead, it appears that Kojima was either innocently sharing the image, or trolling his followers.

A couple of hours later he posted another tweet saying: "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but Kojima Productions has been and will continue to be an independent studio.

This latest tweet seemingly puts the speculation to bed, and confirms that Sony will not be acquiring Kojima Productions after all.
