It's easy to go watch these goofy types of movies when you've got kids man. Theyre all stoked to be in that sort of a situation with an action packed movie, it's fun, the spectacle of the big screen, the theater, the experience. It's amazing how having kids allows you to just step back and go...man...don't take life too seriously. The movie is retarded but it's big action popcorn nonsense, I'm not expecting Citizen Kane here you know?

Theyre all stoked to be in that sort of a situation with an action packed movie, it's fun, the spectacle of the big screen, the theater, the experience. All these sequels have retroactively made the Lost World good lol.
When you think about it wasnt too bad. Kind of made sense that there was ONE site B. Got to go back to the island see the Dinos again. Story made sense that the evil Corp would want to make a theme park and capture dinos. Goldblum was really good. Vince Vaughn was Vaughning it up. 2 T Rex's. Raptors in the weeds scene was actually really good. Then a whole epilogue paying homage to King Kong with the Trex in the city. The kid girl was annoying and gymnastics was dumb. But with hindsight it was actually a pretty good sequel. It wasn't going to live up to the original so it dialed everything up to 11 especially Goldblum.

That's the one good thing about these never ending franchises they make the bad sequels look good. Same with star wars where the ST and Disney shows are so bad people look back at the prequels and say hey they weren't that bad.

Lost world was a good fun sequel. It lives in the shadow of the first but carves it's own little niche and went balls to the walls.

But it's what happens with sequels you have to keep upping the ante. You have to top the previous movie. Trex isn't enough. Spinosauraus isn't enough. Hybrid dinos aren't enough.

I actually wonder if Jurassic Park Rebirth is reusing a rejected premise for a new Tomb Raider film with Lara exploring a ancient ruin filled Skull Island like dinosaur deathtrap.

I liked Fallen Kingdom because it was the exact kind of stupid that really tickles my pickle. Dominion was Rise of Skywalker tier garbo. Going into this one with totally neutral expectations.

This. I thought the first JW was legitimately decent-ish. The next two were not. But you know what? They were fun to watch with the kids. We watched them at home not in the theaters. But still fun.

This next one looks dumb as fuck no doubt, but got some gift cards that we can use in the summer, might take them for this. Life is good.

The D-Rex literally has a xenomorph mandible.

It's kind of fascinating how, as a meta, the movies have no self awareness. World was about making more interesting dinosaur hybrids because people are bored of regular dinos, which they are not IRL. And now this shit just eschews actual dinos for a generic movie monster mishmash creature.
