Hitman developer IO Interactive is reportedly working on a new fantasy IP for Xbox, according to reports from Windows Central.

The outlet was told of a new IP named "Project Dragon" had come up in talks between IO and Microsoft. Those reports were corroborated by Eurogamer, whose sources explained the project is "AAA in scope though still very early in development".

Project Dragon is reportedly a connected-world RPG, with various job listings searching for multiplayer network programmers—one (now-pulled) listing spotted by Windows Central even lists the team name as Dragon. Eurogamer's sources elaborated, saying the game would take place in a "medieval-esque world"

This plus Bond, and new content rolling out for Hitman 3 to boot. I'm glad they're seemingly doing well, things were looking a bit rough before Hitman 2.

Awesome news. Yet another WRPG for Xbox More of my favorite genre on my favorite plastic toy. I can never have too many as long as they are good, hopefully this will be good
 
IO is independent, right? Afaik they were part of Square Enix, but sold themselves free or something. I wonder if they'd want to become part of Microsoft. With recent rumors of CDPR being sold (wtf), MS could really close the bag in terms of WRPG/fantasy games.

Anyway, show, don't tell! A fantasy game with dragons. Could be anything
 
Would be an interesting project but with Bond going I'm wondering how long until we see this game (assuming it's real and they have gone just beyond talking about a potential partnership).

I heard rumblings last year about Platinum finishing Scalebound for a Switch release.

.....just checked the Google machine and yes, MS owns the IP. Unfortunately I don't see MS transferring the rights to Platinum, as a critical success would highlight the cancellation, and I think even a bad game would get brownie points for the drama.

I hope not unless they completely start over and make an actual good game. The last time we saw a preview for Scalebound, it looked absolutely horrible. I completely lost interest in it. I rather they make something totally new.
