A game based on a Polish fantasy series developed by a Polish developer. The Witcher anyone?

I, The Inquisitor is a story-based action-adventure based on the popular books by Jacek Piekara in which, in an alternate history, Jesus of Nazareth responds to his crucifixion with anger and rage rather than forgiveness and compassion. And in the centuries that follow His band of Inquisitors serve as violent enforcers of Biblical law. You play as Mordimer Madderdin in the 1500's, and it will be up to you to show mercy to sinners or to punish them. I, The Inquisitor is in development for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Wishlist it on Steam at https://store.steampowered.com/app/18...
The premise alone is pretty wild and has my interest. Jesus Christ refusing to die on the cross and instead goes on to conquer the Roman Empire and rule like a God King? With a bunch of Inquisitor ready to follow his commands? Holy Shit sign me up.

You can read more on the series by Jacek Piekara here on it's TV Tropes page.

Not familiar with the books, but down for some Alt History RPG.
Based on what I've read, none of the books in The Inquisitor Cycle by Jacek Piekara have been translated into English.

Who knows though? If the game is a success, this may lead to interest in the book series and an English language release, much like The Witcher saga after CDProjektRed's games came out.

Tbh I'm not entirely sure The Witcher Books had been translated to English until the first Witcher game came out and it proved to be something of a success. It certainly wasn't a series that anyone I know was aware of before then.

Instantly the first thing that came to mind.

Footage of I, The Inqusitor is reminding me a bit of Greedfall.

I love this alternate reality shit. Reminds me of blasphemous (if you are into metroidvanias you should play it)

The graphics seem pretty rough at this stage. And I'm curious if this will have monsters or do you fight only against humans
