Togashi is feeling well again it looks like and has been working hard on new HxH material

12 new chapters in total are in the works

Unfortunately, the hiatus chart tells me this run of 12 (if it doesn't get cut back) is probably going to end with no more chapters until 2028 or so.

I hope HxH doesn't end up like Berserk. It deserves some insane adventures on the Dark Continent before it ends, and a continuation of the anime to wrap things up.

12 new chapters? omg, we gonna feast!!1

This might at least let us reach the Dark Continent at long last, I can't imagine the boat arc to continue for that much longer. Really curious what Togashi has planned for the Dark Continent. Size-wise, it's a new world large enough to double the entire manga in length. However, I could also imagine that he wants to wrap it up after all. Although I don't think we even have any idea of an "end goal" for our heroes right now, lol.

What I want to see is how crazy people's powers will have to be to survive. Based on what we've seen in the flashback the monsters are impossible to imagine any human fighting. Even Netero's Bodhisattva couldn't tickle most of them. Kurapika is 100% dead if he goes there.

Yeah, that's exactly it. The mighty chimera ant that gave us an entire exciting arc? Just one of many things that just happen to live there. Alluka, Killua's little brother? Again, just a thing that exists there in droves.

I don't know where I have this from, but in the back of my mind I believe to remember that it was once rumored that together with the Dark Continent, Togashi might introduce a whole new "system" of powers that's not nen-related, but exists separate next to it. Basically imagine what if Naruto's chakra and Bleach's reiatsu existted in the same world. :>

The big question also is: How tf will Gon be re-introduced to the main plot?! I guess the most simple way would be to get him to the Dark Continent via teleportation of sorts.

I think Gon will take a break out of necessity during the Dark Continent Expedition arc. He already went all out during the Chimera Ant war in the Mitene Union (most of the action taking place in The Republic of East Gorteau

Ging also indirectly notes to Gon on a couple of occasions that his training needs to continue. Gon is likely gonna become exponentially stronger during the arc through training, he may end up there but he also may not. Kurapika is probably gonna have raise his abilities somehow and manage to survive the Dark Continent. He's a specialist nen user with extraordinary abilities or capabilities and is highly intelligent so I'm sure he'll manage, but idk how long it will take him to be able to withstand or possibly overcome any of the creatures there if they decide to attack. The Dark Continent Expedition arc is greatly anticipated, Togashi wont disappoint

The problem with Kurapika is that he was specialized to fight the Spiders and his most incredible techniques are only effective on them.

I hadn't thought about Leorio, but I have a feeling his ability has not been fully fleshed out yet. I think he will be able to project himself as a Nen entity to fight or throw remote attacks from much greater distance, maybe after some enhancement by the guides. I can't imagine his popularity alone made him a Zodiac and remote punch is not that impressive by itself. Ging could see the potential in the move to do psychic surgery.

It's also interesting because Kurapika gave up on his wrath and vengeance when he realized his friends were invaluable to him. Now he's in a position where he'll be pitted against the past again, and he's dedicated himself and his entire attack towards the Spider. I can't remember is Hisoka is on the boat or not but I recall a few Phantom Troupe members were?

I'm glad that he's continuing again after so many years. There was even a website created https://hiatus-hiatus.github.io/

Is he going to finish the boat ark or will he continue the story past that all the way to the dark continent?
No way to be sure but he has gold on his hands and is primed to do amazing work imo. Still can't believe his wife is the creator of Sailor Moon, that guy might be swimming in ideas by now if he decided to think about the story any during his time off

That's probably a reason why he can take those health related long breaks. They must have quite some money.

Maybe the death of Miura motivated him to finish the hxh. What happened to berserk is fucking sad.

Is there somewhere a summary of the last arc?

It's (unironically and ironically) stuck on a boat going to a magical island.

If Togashi ends up finishing the Dark Continent Expedition there's no question imo, there will be a season for it. But there's no telling when that will be. So in other words, a couple years at least I'd imagine
Imo the best decision to take would be to continue the HXH anime in form of movies. The boat arc easily has enough material for a movie, and it could end with an amazing scene of landing at the coast of the Dark Continent.

An actual anime series would probably be 10+ years in the future, because even if the Dark Continent arc makes some progress, there's no way it's gonna end quickly, and there needs to be a proper end point before starting another anime series adaptation. The 2011-anime has that perfect ending point, which is why it was relatively easy to accept the series ending. But how awful would it be if another adaptation ended inmidst of the Dark Continent arc? ;>

About damn time ! Good to see the Author feeling well enough to continue the series but now I have to go and re-read the beginning of the Dark continent Arc because TBH I forgot most of it

Same here man, I forgot like 99% of the material on the boat and who all was there present on the boat. I just know it was Kurapika and some of the Spider, some Princes…

It is a battle royale for one survivor arc, so TBH I'd wait until the next volume or two come out to pick it up just in case if you don't like waiting. Battle royale is the sort of thing you want to read on a regular schedule. Judging by the number of participants it is about 30% through. Assuming there is not some massive upset, of course, because it looks like a lot of setup of abilities is happening and they are likely going to be far more powerful than anything seen before.
