That living sucks and I can't wait to be done. I no longer get all that excited for anything, all of the mirth and joy of life has slowly been sucked out of everything, and people are too stupid to realize how shit everything is so they let it get shittier.

Well, beside constant and seemingly random pains throughout the body.... the big one is seeing teens in public and wanting to shake my head. So many of them look like morlocks and orcs. I am sure the way they dress and the those dumbass nose rings are trendy, but to me they look like dumbasses. And the fact that they feel like rebels with danger hair in 2023 makes me want to laugh to the point of crying. I feel like they are trying to mimic imitations of fakeness. Their lives are so derivative they dont even know they are generic.

So I am now an old man yelling at kids on my lawn. I can live with that.

I think it's important to "decouple" yourself from all that, and just let the kids be.

It's what I am telling my older son when he plays some crap music to me, expecting me to like it.
I just say "This is your music, not mine. And that's perfectly fine."

I was actually in that phase for a while. You might not see it or believe it now, but you can get out of that, and it's worth it.

I don't think thats just a old man thing thats a subject that deserves its own thread. Personally I have always hated following whatever's trendy at the moment and I never liked the stupid piercings they look so damn ugly. I mean imagine being fifty years old with earrings a nose piece and dumb tattoos covering your back. For me piercings and tats have always been something I've made fun of and hated the idea of doing the popular thing trying to be cool I'd rather just be lame and boring and earn the respect of my elders easier.

idk I never understood why we do whatever's cool at the moment to be the popular person when your young. Lot of people do it and I never understand it.

Yeah, it comes and goes, sometimes it's worse than others. Starting to wonder if there's any point in trying to get out of it.

FUCK those stupid nose rings. If hating these is an old man thing, lock me up in the nursery right now.

I have no idea why young attractive women put those ugly rings in their nose. It never looks good.

I dunno. I think I have a young soul. lol

Me and my daughter share a lot of our music tastes, she finds some great songs on her own and is rock/metal/electronic oriented, like I am. I'm also very fond of new music in general, some of my fave bands are current such as Loathe and Sleep Token.

Also, I love tattoos and I used to hate buffalo bill nose rings but I've grown to like them depending on who's wearing them.
 
kids dying their hair and getting facial piercings has been a thing for like 50 years now
