With our new COVID living/working situation (my wife and I telework full time), I almost never leave the house anymore. Pretty much only if I need to run an errand, which is rare, or mow the lawn maybe once a month. I'd say I get outside (like, even stepping one foot out my front door) maybe once a week, sometimes less. From a physical and mental health perspective, I realize this is not a good thing and that I should probably work on getting out more. Maybe as the summer progresses.

What about the rest of you? Have you become a total recluse, too, or do you still get out for work/life/social/hobbies?

Yeah we aren't even allowed to leave the house after 10pm because covid is apparently extra deadly at night.

I have to be at work, so I leave the house all the time. On weekends I'm outside at least once a day, no matter the weather, to take the babies out for a walk.

Also, having a garden helps a lot during lockdowns with three kids.

But I do miss going out and having more social interactions. Like going to a bar with my best buddy, seeing movies, going to restaurants etc. It sucks so much.

A few times a day. Take dogs out to play/walk. Walk to get mail. Lawn care. And errands. Its less than pre-CoVID, but not too bad.

Sounds like I'm the minority. 🤔

Contemplating buying a new truck - maybe that will get me outside more, at least during the summer months. Granted, I live in western Washington state, so I get about 3 weeks out of the year of unbearable heat (to me), 2 months of nice weather, and then the rest of it is rain, clouds, and slugs.

I get out (as in physically outdoors, not just in a car) waaaaay more since working from home. I make it a point to walk at least 3 or 4 miles a day, which means I'm outside for around an hour at least.

Every day, we have 3 acres fenced so its a daily thing to go outside and play football, frisbee or whatever. Even in winter we made sure we take the kids outside every day for at least 20 min in minus 25 to 30.

It was plus 23 here today so my wife and kids were outside most of the day, we have a small pavilion thing large enough for a car, that's the home base for everyone and I even managed to work from there an hour today.

I plan on hand turning the potato field on the weekend as well. It will be our first settled spring and summer here so im all ready to grow our food for us, potato, carrot, tomato cucumber etc all planned out and the soiled turned and made rich

I want to live in a house again for this very reason. Apartment life fucking sucks.
Boy, does it. I spent about 8 years living in various apartments and almost every one of them was a nightmare in one shape or another. Noisy-ass neighbors, snoopy landlords, etc.

almost never until recently, spent most of my twenties injured so i decided to develop my mind instead

now i go out basically every day to ruck or run, yard work, sandbags, whatever

I'm in shitty Canada so I start jogging as soon as it gets nice out here, usually April or sometimes March if I'm lucky. Then I shut it down in October/November. I generally walk to the grocery store which is 30 mins away unless I have to pick up a lot of stuff.

I've also started playing sandlot baseball with some friends on Sundays, we're out there for a good 3-4 hours.

So yeah, I try to get outside as much as possible especially in the summer. Excerise is important and fresh air/sunshine can't be beat. Save the gaming/tv/boozing for night and enjoy the day.

I get outside several times a day.

I live in the countryside and there's Woods and fields literally at the end of my garden, and my village sits at the foot of the South Downs, so I'd rather be out there than in doors.

Even before COVID I only leave the house for a reason. It's either work, I got a basketball game with the boys, going to the movies or I need to finish something.

I'm not one of those that leaves the house for no reason when I can just chill and do my shit at home.

You know how you've been inside for a bit, and when you first walk outside in the sunlight, it's kinda blaring and your vision is sorta darkened and the lights up?

That's a really cool effect in videogames. I wonder if that happens in real life, too.
