Thinking back to all the episodes of cartoons, anime, sitcoms, other such shows and series you've seen - how many episodes (approximately) have you seen in your life? The thought popped up in my mind and then I figured for me it has to be in the thousands if not ten thousands? The tv was constantly on from childhood to maybe high school... From Hanna Barbera, Loony Toons, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Sitcoms like Cosby Show, Brady Bunch, Cheers, all kind of other Nick @ Nite old shows. Then there are the anime shows like Pokemon and One Piece. Scooby Doo, Simpsons, Hey Arnold, SpongeBob all the time, etc. Seemed like every time I was home from school sick there'd be some random cartoons playing. All in all, my guess is that I've seen probably about 40,000-60,000 episodes from different shows if we're counting re-runs in my life. So many different shows it would take hours to name them all probably, and they were constantly playing as the tv was on so often each day. Felt like it was on 6-14 hours most days

This is really difficult to quantify.......80's/90's/2010's grew up with cable like a pretty consistent feed. Once Netflix broke the mold with streaming everything changed around 2010 going forward.

You also have to consider that back in those times how you consumed was dependent on the television. I can binge content in 75% of the time without commercials nowadays with streaming.

Frank, can you answer your own question you fucking spaznuts? How the fuck are we supposed to know? You got a real nerve throwing this numbers out here, i have acrophobia and you just triggered the shit out of my cock brotherman.

Not too many. Less than a thousand. TV shows waste too much time. I watched 3000 movies though (according to my imdb stat)

Fuck man, how the hell would I know? Like I'm going to guess maybe 10,000? I watch a lot of old classic shows and have done since I was a kid thanks to basically not sleeping.

I honestly can't remember half of the shit I've watched in my life. Most of the things I watched as a kid I don't remember. I watched so many sitcoms, cartoons, and old syndicated shows from before I was even born like My Three Sons, The Patty Duke show, etc, etc. I was a TV junkie from a young age and was willing to watch pretty much anything. The 80s and 90s were full of awesome shit, and the 90s is also when I went through my anime phase. Then as I got older I got hooked on serious dramas like The Wire, Breaking Bad, etc. The fact that I have consumed very few shows in the past decade says a lot about how much entertainment has declined. Now I just catch the occasional streaming show if I hear some youtubers I follow hyping it up.

Listen here Mantooth, there's been a lot of eggs in my kitchen and the total cholesterol just sitting there in those cartons have been stressing out my neighbors relentlessly. I think I might have to decline my inevitable Nobel Peace Prize this Winter

Most likely, I've seen somewhere in the neighborhood of 38k to 50k episodes of shows and I did the math loosely but it has to be around there. Most of the content being watched was cartoons from age three to about age thirteen so roughly a decade of nonstop viewership. Cartoons in the morning, cartoons after school, cartoons during homework at the kitchen table, cartoons after homework. I used to fall asleep with the TV on with no sound for years. I used to judge how late it was depending on what was playing on Nick @ Nite as the really old shows would play around 10pm to 1am and I used to get nervous if I wasn't sound asleep by the time those shows were on

I watched a ton of cartoons and so did my family and friends so I figured on average I probably watched about seven episodes per day and TBH it was probably way more than that considering how I used cartoons for everything, and cartoons and shows to relax at night as well. I'm confident that the number is ridiculously high considering how great cartoons were and the volume of them and my viewership so without question I'm in the 21k-50k bracket and my best guess is that I've probably seen, roughly, upwards of 40-50k episodes. Past that number, I kind of doubt it but it is possible... Sometimes homework alone took a few hours and The Simpsons usually played two or three episodes, Malcolm In the Middle came on after that I think (?) or maybe it was news or something. But yeah, 21-50k episodes easily. The majority of episodes watched in my lifetime being re-runs of course. Seriously there must be like 75-100 good shows from the late 80s to the mid 90s alone... Still remember the channel number for Nickelodeon after all these years from the cable company we used to subscribe to

By the way, if this memoir does not receive you well and you do not find it worth your while, King of Furry Lampshade Cocks, I will personally sway the police to break down your door and chainsaw a fifth of your mouse off for fun. It's going to cost me some pizza and beer currency, but it'll be totes worth it my gay. The next time you think about quitting during your set of 4 reps girl pushups, before your ramenceps are about to cave in? Just remember this my friend, I have the power to permanently discontinue garlic in your country

I have seen every episode of:

  • Dukes of Hazzard
  • Knight Rider
  • Beverly Hills 90201
  • And whatever show the guy is from where there is a gif of him in sunglasses. Not sure if it is like LA Law, NICIS or something like that. He is in Miami in the show.
That's pretty much the only TV shows that I have seen every episode of. Overall, I probably fall into the 1000-5000 category due to watching sports at home and at sports bars/friends. Most of my viewing is watching golf and football.

So I did some conservative number crunching based on my viewing habits and its well over 30k. I watch a lot of TV shows... and many repetitiously.

Shows that have watched the entire series (on my server):
Absolutely Fabulous
Aladdin
Allen Gregory (at least 50x... but its only 7 episodes)
Andy Griffith
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Archer
Arrested Development
Batman the Animated Series
Battlestar Galactica (2003)
the Big Bang Theory
Bobs Burgers
Captain N: The game master
Cheers
Coach
Community
The Critic

Aeon Flux
Firefly
Frasier (both!)
Freaks and Geeks
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
The Golden Girls
Growing Pains
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law

The IT Crowd (at least 20X)
The Kids in the Hall
King of the Hill (Probably 20-30x thru)
Life's too short
Matlock

News Radio
Night Court
Parks and Recreation
Saved by the Bell
Sealab 2021
Seinfeld (~10x)

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Toast of London
Trailer Park Boys (3x)
