Well what a few months it has been, and here we are with only two remaining candidates. Each game listed has beaten any other game that dared challenge them. Yet there can only be one "Greatest Game of all Time" as voted by D-Pad.

So here we are with one final choice. D-Pad I ask you one last time, What is the greatest game of all time?

vs

Voting will close in three days, given tomorrows down time. It may not be close, and a winner may be obvious by the end of the day.

I'd just like to take this last moment to thank everyone for playing. It's been a wild few months. We have all torn each other to pieces, but in a fun, friendly way, which is what it's all been about. I may do something again in the future, but I'm going to have to think on, as to the specifics. Much love to you all. ❤️

OoT for me, magnificent game. It's no Elden Ring, not even close, but has great atmosphere and fun gameplay.

3D game what a revelation from 2D. There should definitely be more 3D games going forward. What an exciting 20+ years we are in for. I wonder how much better the games will be 😍.

This is going basically just like I expected.

It's not that Chrono Trigger isn't among the very best games ever made. It's that Ocarina of Time was that game. It was far and away something truly special.

Sadly, this is where I feel that BotW would have been the only other game with a decent chance of unseating OoT in a poll, but we have enough BotW detractors in this community who put it out prematurely not once but twice. Smh....

What a boring finale that would have been, Ocarina of Time vs Breath of the Wild.

I think this poll is better suited to your tastes:

No more boring than this 20:1 vote. Any other votes that go to Chrono Trigger are just Zelda-dectractors manipulating the vote with extra accounts and stuff. We know the outcome at this point.

Ah yes, manipulating the votes. Because Nintendo-Pad hasn't been doing that with every Nintendo game since the beginning, including the five Legend of Zelda games, am I right? The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and "underappreciated" Breath of the Wild. Next you're going to tell me that four of those five games should have made it to the final four.

Could of been worse. For a while it looked like nothing would stop Tetris lol. In fact it was Chrono Trigger that stopped it... just.

Well, duh... This is the obvious list of greatest games ever conceived...

1. Breath of the Wild
2. A Link to the Past
3. Ocarina of Time
4. Breath of the Wild Again
5. Super Mario Bros. 3.
9. Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger holds up better visually and story-wise. Won't be upset though if Zelda wins.

I vividly remember playing Oot and Pokemon Red at the exact same time. My older brother was going to school in Arizona and we both were playing Oot and would talk about it. Happy memory. I love it. I voted Chrono Trigger though. It edges it out for me. Just one of the best rpgs of all time. I think maybe I like Lttp more than Oot though. Im definitely Super bonk as I always lean Snes.

I'll never forget the time I kept showing my friend a pic of Princess Ruto as an adult in my Prima Guide for OoT and telling him to look at her plump tits and he got so annoyed that he ripped the page out and started eating the paper, then threw it into the burning fire place. I ended up needing like two to three weeks to figure out what was next in the Water Temple

OoT is a game that almost seemed like it was meant to happen in my life. I initially wanted to play it and tried to as a kid but it wasn't on my N64 and I was frightened by Ganondorf trying to kidnap Zelda as well as potentially deleting my friend's file. So it wasn't time. Then maybe a year or year and a half later, at a party every kid is taking turns playing it gathered around the tv. I never got a turn, but that's because I was so focused on what was on the screen. Seeing Link in his green garb, trotting along in this green maze in Kokiri Forrest, trying to evade and get past these boulders in the maze, it completely captured me. I can't remember the moment or day that I fully went for my own file but OoT changed my life. My friend even gifted me his own gold cartridge of OoT in the end, so the very first cartridge I had played on still remains with me. So many good memories playing that game with friends and family, and the game itself is just unbelievably epic despite having a silent protagonist that never says a word. It's an ethereal game, I used to wonder how so many things went perfectly right for the development team with OoT to have aced every step in this magnificent action-adventure game. Even the glitches made this game more memorable. I had to actually restart the Water Temple up to a point because I glitched out, Link glitched out right before the Boss door in that room. Got so many stories and memories with this game; it's amazing. Probably the only single player game besides Super Mario 64 and Paper Mario where people flocked to this game and were very content with watching the gameplay every time it was on. It might have been like a movie to them, who knows, it was certainly an epic adventure unlike any other that I've played

I voted for Chrono Trigger, but this one could have easily gone either way. I didn't play either of these games when they came out as I had a Genesis and PS1 at the times, so I don't have nostalgia for them the way that I do with certain other games that we have voted on. Both of these games are at the top of the genres and console libraries. Both deserve to be in the discussion of best game ever. I'll be happy with either result (though I know that OoT will win easily).

For me, personally, Chrono Trigger is my favorite DS game. I never played it on SNES but I'm sure it would have been a great companion to my other favorites on the console like Super Mario World and F-Zero. Of course it also helps that I love Akira Toriyama's art and other games that utilize his work like the Dragon Quest series, so the box art drew me in and got me excited to finally play it. I'm pretty fond of handheld gaming as well so it hits a lot of the right notes. It's just as charming as a Dragon Quest game in terms of graphics and sound but also felt like an evolution in terms of battles being seamless and engrossing fun with all of the techs.

Conversely, I feel there are many better 3D games than Ocarina of Time, many better action-adventure games, and Legend of Zelda games that are more fun like A Link Between Worlds on 3DS, but then I think top-down classic Zelda is more fun anyway. Similar to Metroid games, I'd play Metroid Fusion or Super Metroid over Metroid Prime. Played Metroid Prime and its sequel on GameCube but always lost interest after a while.

Hey, you guys wanna go to Hot Dog On A Stick after this and nibble on the little crust at the end of those corn dogs?

Both Chrono Trigger and Ocarina of Time are I think worthy of actually being labeled the Greatest Game of All Time, and that's something when you look at the absolutely insane quality of games that can still make it into even just a top 100 list, nevermind regularly on people's top 10. Ocarina is one of my favorite games ever, but Chrono Trigger is something else.

Both of them are among the best tales of heroism and time travel in all fiction.
