Just sent my kid to daycare today for the first time, realized how much you take for granted having them until I saw a picture of him at the daycare.

Have kids people, if you can, you won't regret it, if you can't, I'm sorry.

If you aren't in a position to do so, get your shit together and reach that goal, kids are amazing.

Can barely afford to have a roof above my head. Can't imagine how much more expensive a kid will be. I do want to have a child once im financially ready and find the right woman

She's the reason for everything I do now. I used to only live for myself. My biggest fear is when she's old enough for first grade. What if she makes friends besides me 😭

You'll never be financially ready. When you have a kid, you stop with a lot of spending bs because you have very real responsibilities. It's more expensive but your spending habits do a 180. When you find the right girl, get to work

Even if you're breaking even after the kid, or a bit worse, a loved child whos poor is so much better than a spoiled child who's rich.

Poor immigrants who have multiple kids still manage

Also the amount of money I spent on myself went way down afterwards and I don't regret it, once you have a kid that you want and are motivated by, you'll find a way

We've begun the process that generally leads to the process of making a third one.

As much as it bothers my wife, I have told my wife that I wish we hadn't waited as long as we did. I understand our finances are much better off now, but I'm going to be knocking on the door to 60 as our kids are entering into adulthood.

Finances are never easy regardless of how much you earn. There will always be new expenses and bigger expenses. Earning more money just means there are less avenues of help to cover those expenses. No one helps me with my mortgage and my medical expenses. Earn less enough and they'll give you a place to live and nullify your medical bills or something. lol

I got two.

Never really wanted kids until I met the woman I'm with now.

I love my children. Sadly my older chil passed due to sudden illness around December 2 years ago, and it was the worst feeling ever in my life. I still suffer from it.

Loving my child and gives her plenty of love each day. Because you never know when the worst fear would happen to you.

I'll make her sure she has the most living and understanding parents, no matter what happens and what she might do.

I do want a woman with good values to pass on our children. Preferably a low kill count. Religious is optional

You're describing a conservative woman. Given your personal politics it seems likely that you'll end up with the total opposite.

At least he won't be alone.

I've got one that's gonna be a teenager in a half year, and it feels so weird to say that.

Love being a dad, there's absolutely nothing better in the world than the love you share with your little one. I honestly would love to have more, but the wife had me get a vasectomy a few years back as she doesn't want anymore. I regret it for many reasons, (had a lot of medical complications afterwards as well), but no sense lamenting what already happened. The important thing is my daughter is here, and she's incredible.

I do agree, if you can have kids, do it. It's the reason we're alive, and it gives meaning to this exercise in futility we call existence.

That's heart breaking, wish you all the strength in the world. Good that you and your wife are still together, I don't think my marriage would survive something like this.

I think before having kids it is best to have a lot of patience and endurance. Just having kids is easy, having kids and raising them properly takes a lot of effort. Parenting is something you shouldn't do half-heartedly, as the consequences of bad parenting are all too predictable.

Aren't you almost 30? Do you expect to have kids when you're 40?

People waiting too long to have kids, that's for sure. I turned 35 last year: oldest kid is 12 and youngest is 4. I'm not gonna be a brittle sack of bones when my grandkids are born.

I'm 30 and no im hoping before 35.

You might want to put gaming on hold for a year or 2 and broaden your interests. Join a community group that's in no way associated with gaming, Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, etc. Volunteer on a regular basis or join a cowboy church.

If you want to meet someone, get married and have kids in 5 years, you need to sacrifice.
