Shunsuke Saito—the character designer and animator for Gravity Rush and Gravity Rush 2, as well as art director for Gravity Rush 2—has left Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio, he announced.

Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed back in February that it will reorganize Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio into a new organization on April 1, re-centering it to Team ASOBI, the creative team behind Astro’s Playroom.

Kentaro Motomura, who has worked on a number of titles from Dark Cloud to Wild Arms, Soul Sacrifice, Bloodborne, and Everybody’s Golf, has also left Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio, he announced. Motomura plans to continue making games in the future.

Fuck Sony. The reason they're doing this shit is because they want to appeal to the world and not just Japan

Mind you that Sony Japan games saw a great success in the world which makes Sony look like fucking imbeciles
In the past, Sony (and other Japanese devs) appealed to the world by exporting Japanese culture (and exporting Japan's unique take on other cultures). Sony is thoroughly "Western" now. This kinda feels like an alternative SEGA timeline where SEGA of America took over and ran the show.

Thoroughly Western and boring. At least SEGA still doing great by localizing all of the their games

And ironically their big, thoroughly western capstone game for the PS4, TLOU2, seems to have underperformed compared to the first game and, in most parts of the world, maybe overall too, been outsold by the love letter to Japanese culture that is Ghost of Tsushima.

The whole company has gone to the dogs since moving headquarters to California, unsurprisingly.

Sony seems to be bleeding the talent that made them interesting in the PS3/PSP/Vita/early PS4 window of time. What a shame.
Exactly this.
If not for these people, all that's left is western 3rd person open world action trash bullshit.
PS5 is getting less and less interesting. If you could even buy one.

I guess I am just getting a gaming PC for the first time in 20 years, and be done with it.
