ITT we list and discuss outstanding items or weapons in video games, or games of any kind that you enjoy playing

One of the greatest items ever to me is the Reverse Mushroom from Mario Party 3 for the N64. This item is both unique to the series, extremely powerful, and game altering. This one item completely changed the way players can play the boards in Mario Party 3 - making them far more dynamic and interesting to play on every time you played with friends who knew the game well and could make use of a Reverse Mushroom at an opportune time. It was probably the most fun and exciting staple item to have on you during a game. Some even call it 'broken' because of its sheer power to change a game

Second, I will commend the F.L.U.D.D. in Super Mario Sunshine for its unique contributions towards creating one of the greatest platformer games I've ever played. The impact this device has on the game is very strong and players will make use of F.L.U.D.D. efficiently or fail, repeatedly. F.L.U.D.D. added to Super Mario in so many ways, I'll have to take some time to reflect and write up a proper essay-like post about it here one day. But it was more dynamic than people give it credit for. Mario was able to aim and shoot, clean, hover, slide, propel himself at high speeds like a speed boat and into the air at high altitudes like a rocket. It's the most versatile item in the 3D Super Mario games, by a mile. The way it allowed Mario to explore and tackle the Resort Island, Isle Delfino, is one of a kind and IMO Super Mario Sunshine is one of gaming's finest platformer titles of all time, mainly thanks to the F.L.U.D.D.

Shock Rifle. -Unreal Tournament series.

The utility that weapon had is unrivaled.

Primary Fire- Sniper-esque hitscan laser.

Secondary Fire- Shock Core, wide, with the ability to displace a close enemy.

And for the magic,

Shock Combo- a huge, satisfying, versatile, beautiful vortex of death. Nothing like throwing multiple out in anticipation of your enemies move, only for you to jump boot up to a vantage point and get that single pixel confirm.

The Hookshot from Legend of Zelda. Its a way to grab/move things, its a mode of transportation and its a weapon.

The Tazzer in the Syphon Filter series was a great weapon and way too strong for a last resort weapon.
Gravity Gun in Elebits is more of an item than a weapon, and lifting, tilting and smashing around small items, cars... houses (and even ) is great fun.

Phased Plasma Pulse Rifle from Colonial Marines

It is only available in the collector's edition and can be brought into the multiplayer where it deals insane hit-scan damage. It was effectively insta-gib from Unreal Tournament for wallet warriors :D

Also @and 3 others I feel you could say that almost every UT weapon is a bit broken-awesome, if we will bend the rules and consider dual pistols too.

Charging up a fat splooge of green slime and Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award all over someone in one hit

No scoping w the sniper rifle

Anything flak cannon

Neckshots with ripper blades

shredding someone with a good mid-range chaingun blast

Anything rocket launcher

Some highschool buddies and I played on the computer lab network for the first 18 months of the game's life. 8+ player matches available daily after school. One of our favorite modes was nothing but shock rifles, with instagib + explode-on-death. We'd play stock and run out of 100 lives within about 5 minutes of a match starting, playing on the smallest maps.

Excuse me.
I'm sorry.
I think I misheard you all.
So let me request some context.

Did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?

I think theres a weapon in Diablo 3 that references that both visually and by name. Might just be similar words and design though.

The items you're thinking of is the same item. Same model, same visual effect, same name.

Insanely fun and effective.

Also, there are a ton of great armor and weapons around from RPGs that I can't think off right now.
