Did anyone else own a Game Boy Advance SP? I loved mine and played many great games like Metroid Fusion, Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Final Fight One, Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Wario Land 4.

this goes down as the only console I have two games for and always played the ds instead. The two games is a duel masters game and a og zelda port.

In my old ass memories, I always seem to remember the Gameboy products being so much earlier. They just spanned such a long period of time that it blurred together. Plus, by 2003, I was already way too old for that shit.

I mean, today a 20 year old can play a handheld and no one cares. But in 2003, if you were 20 and walking around with a fucking bright colored Gameboy, you were the biggest loser who ever existed. Times change lol

I feel like I missed out on a cool device with the Gameboy Advance.

It was my last Gameboy, and was mind blowing awesome after skipping the original version, so going straight to it from the GBColour.

I used it for a good few years, since I didn't make the jump to the DS until the second year of the DS Lite being out, getting it in a deep sale with an extra employee discount through my sister.

I always feel the Advance's library is a bit over rated, as the real bangers are absolutely dwarfed by both the Gameboy before it and DS after, but games like the above FF Tactics Advanced, Metroid Fusion and Minish Cap are phenomenal titles that kept me entertained for months and are just as good today as they were then.

Sadly I gave my SP to my nephew, after I got a DS Lite, who, I learnt recently, binned it a couple of years back. I blame youthful short-sightedness, as I'd love to have a crack at modding one with a better screen and some of the cool customisations I've seen are available for it today.

How any of these games made it onto the gba was beyond me lol. Their funny and impressive though but they got to suck to try and play.

The main draw of the Game Boy Advance SP to me (and I had the platinum silver color but it did also come in charcoal black @Grinchy) was that they introduced the back-lit screen, although I do think the original GBA felt more comfortable to hold. Still, I remember playing Metroid Fusion, Final Fight One etc and it seemed like the visuals really popped out more like it would if you were playing on the TV. Very fond memories of handheld gaming. You could play Game Boy Color games on it as well so I would revisit Dragon Warrior I & II and III on the brighter screen.

Awesome game

Played the crap out of it

Never actually played the FFT on PSX but this was life back in the day

This and Advance Wars were my first strategy games
