Microids has announced Flashback 2, a sequel to the 1992 science-fiction platformer for consoles and PC. It will launch in 2022. Specific consoles were not announced.

Microids CEO Stephane Longeard in a press release:

We are super excited to offer the fans a sequel to this masterpiece of the French video game history. At Microids, we thrive for delivering projects highlighting the craft of talented individuals. Paul Cuisset is a French hall of famer known internationally. We are proud to work hand-in-hand with him and his team on this project.

A friend of mine had the original on SNES. I am not too embarrassed to admit that we could not figure out how to move past the first screen. My buddy bought it used so we didn't have the manual and the internet then was of no use. So we were just left to guess/check and couldn't figure it out. I am sure if I watched a YouTube video I would laugh at how obvious it was.

Can't you literally walk to the left? Or just drop down by walking a little?

You should be embarrassed. 😛

I still have the Genesis version in the box. It's one of my favorite games of all time. The SNES version is like molasses in comparison.

The PS4 port was well done too (not the shitty remake, they actually ported the OG to the PlayStation).

Lol believe it or not we never thought to drop down. I just watched it on YouTube and had a chuckle. I guess we just assumed it was death and never tried it. Was probably only an hour we tried, but still after seeing how easy it was we must have just had an off day.... or other games to play.
