Given how huge the plotholes are to the games I wonder how they'll address them in the series tbh. They're the sort of illogical aspects that might fly in Videogames, but maybe less so with TV Critics. 🤔

There's a long list, but for starters, a bite alone will infect you, yet consistently characters run around with little in the way of any form of protection, especially on their arms. This kind of insanity was something that was addressed in Max Brooks World War Z.

For other fun thoughts. Ponder this. Petrol starts to decay after around 6 months.

Characters not protecting themselves as well as you want is not a plot hole. I mean how does such a complaint not apply to every piece of zombie media that's ever existed besides that one book you mentioned? There were lots of reasons The walking Dead was dumb to people but I never heard this one for instance I'm not sure why it would come up now.

Nice try zombie!

Honestly if there was ever a movie that this criticism could be lodged against it would probably be Zombieland because it features a list of things you need to do in a zombie apocalypse to survive. Or the adaptation of world war z to the silver screen. But even for those I never heard this before.

No but The walking Dead has been going for a while and has the exact same "issue". I just don't see compelling evidence that video game critics are more accepting of these problems.

The Walking Dead might have been popular, but it wasn't exactly sweeping the Emmys.

You're thinking too hard about this.

Ponder this; multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach are easily recovered from by using bandages dipped in alcohol. Recovery takes no longer than the time to apply the bandage.

LOL. I'm interested to see what HBO do with it as a property, but I would hope they bring a bit of rigour to it in terms of the world-building etc because I would hate to see them suffer another fumble in the same way they dropped the ball with the last few seasons of GOT when it came to the writing.

Of all the game series to turn into an HBO show, this is perhaps among the most boring. It's just another post-apocalyptic zombie excursion. It's especially sad since Pascal being in this show is (according to rumor) straining his relationship with Mandalorian.

I don't know I would love to see something with the quality and production values HBO can provide that's zombie stuff as someone who is deeply disappointed with The Walking Dead, this feels like the first real chance for something great for the subject matter when it comes to television.

It's kind of similar to how game of thrones aged up fantasy and whether or not it finished poorly it still has that going for it and it's hard to find it's equal on television or in the movies. If you read fantasy you know there's plenty of mature stuff and stuff actually geared towards adults but we've yet to see if the successive game of thrones opens the door for those other stories.

Zombies are in a sort of similar rut in my view and I say this as a huge fan of zombies but I think all the best stuff or at least most of the best stuff involving them is from the seventies and eighties. At least in terms of movies when it comes to TV shows I'm not sure there's ever been a good TV show focused on zombies I would have to think about it.

I think it be interesting to see, mind you I agree with your point on another post apocalyptic zombie show. It was the same for vampires in early 2000s and superhero movies.

I want to see if they follow a different formula however.
