Thread: FINALLY!
The speed test in the PS5 network settings is not very accurate also, just FYI. It sucks to trying to track the real speed. It can show me half of what I'm actually getting if I just look at a download and see it tick away 10MB per second (80mbps) on a download.

But you're not going to sit there for an hour tracking every tick it shows and come up with some overall average lol. It should really show you the actual speed while downloading something.
How about 5G routers? I managed to connect my ps5 to the 5g signal of my router, can it take advantage of that? I do know the gaming updates have been pretty fast so fast, but not sure if it is taking advantage of 5g wifi signal.

Mine refuses to connect to my 5G band for some reason

Darn. If I'm not mistaken mine is connecting to the 5g band of my old Asus gaming router, I bought it several years ago on amazon.

Could be yours is a newer router and it needs a future update for compatibility.

Mine connects to the 5G just fine. I use Ethernet on it though via a powerline cable.

The PS5 has Wifi6 so if you had a really new router I guess it could take advantage of that. I don't know a lot about it though as I don't have one.

But seriously, I picked it up at a police station (his idea) at 7pm. Got home at 8pm. Set it up, had it download a few games while I slept for work. Woke up, played Demon's Souls for 25 minutes, and left for work.

Awesome, congrats on the deal finally working out!

...

So hey, unrelated, but what's your address and what times are you usually gone for work?!? :ninja::ninja::ninja:

Anyone owned these two headsets and have an opinion on the two and how the audio quality compare?

Sony Platinum Headset

And the Sony Pulse 3D headset.

I currently have the Platinums, they're getting old and want a replacement if they ever do break.

I swear I'm not trying to keep my thread alive, I just didn't want to make a new thread.

I can't compare them to the Platinum ones, but I do have the Pulse 3D. To start right off with the bad things about them, the ear cups are small and shallow, making them uncomfortable to wear for long periods. My ears actually touch the inside part while it is clamped on my head. The old PS3 mic was more comfortable.

Also, the fake leather on one of the cups has already started pulling out. Not like flaking, but actually just unadhered to the inside. I treated these things very well, too, so I was a bit annoyed by that. You can get 3rd party replacements for these that are puffier and I may do that.

But for the good, you get all of your controls on the left cup and once you figure out the layout of the buttons, it works very nicely. The sound quality isn't bad and it does a very good job with the 3D audio effect. I don't really play any PS5 games without the headset and I have a decent surround system. It just sounds better with the headset and you get all the details and feels like the mix is just right.
