The character designs, art direction, and overall look of the game as well as the story and music are all really good.
I could see myself having fun with this, even though I'm not big into action RPGs.
Cid's voice is hilarious to me, he's beyond gruff, he's entered some sort of pocket-grizzle dimension also inhabited by Tom Skerritt and Sam Elliott, together they form a gravelly triumvirate capable of disolving worlds purely by their utterances.
Game looks very cool, its like they saw people online talking about FFXIV saying well the story and characters and world are cool but the combat isn't intense and visceral enough, mission accomplished lads.

This, Demon's Souls and Ratchet and Clank are the 3 games making me want to buy a PS5.
My rule for buying a system is 5 must haves though, so at this rate it'll be 2025 before there are enough titles for me to pull the trigger, and by that point it'll be out on PC.

They really are trying to force black representation into everything. It's a symptom of the Western world's black fetish.
What's crazier is, no one's talking about Mexican/Hispanic representation. To an outsider, the U.S. is comprised of only black and white people.

Gotta love it. Though I don't think anyone was expecting their next attempted target after Hogwarts Legacy to be Final Fantasy XVI of all games.
I think this will end the same way it did with Hogwarts Legacy, though Sony unfortunately is now based off in California and does not have the independence JK Rowling has.

What I find so incredibly frustrating reading the insane Resetera-thread is that they DEMAND black people be in EVERY video game as a "bare minimum". Like, wtf. How about let developers make the games they want to make?! It's not like the majority of AAA-games lacks black people. If ones doesn't have them, boo fucking hoo.

I feel this. I really miss the turn-based battles. Now it's just a bunch of "Hyaa! Hyaaaah!!! Hyaah! Ayaaaahhhh!" coming from all around you as your party generically flails at monsters and occasionally you have an opportunity to coordinate them into doing something cool. I understand that you can manage how they fight, but it still doesn't negate the fact that there's a bunch of flailing that happens when a monster gets near.

The title's latest trailer outlines everything you need to know. Clive can equip multiple difficulty-bending accessories at once, basically allowing you to customise the challenge of combat. By choosing 'Story-Focused Mode' at the beginning of the game, the shaggy-haired protagonist will be automatically equipped with a set of accessories that make combos and dodging much less of a concern.

They just need to release story DLC with balanced turn based combat as an option for the full game. It would be good for those who have already completed the game, and give new players the option.

I'm not going to hold my breath for a franchise that hasn't put out a stellar entry in 20 years. I'll wait out the reviews before I look into this game.
