Thread: Final Fantasy 6 30th Anniversary Retrospective

Interesting video on the 30th anniversary of FF6, released in Japan on April 2, 1994. Goes indepth on how the title came about, technical details, story and more.

The game that really showed the ambition of Square back then. It was amazing to play and the visuals with the soundtrack were utterly stellar for the time. Especially for most of us, who came from 4 to 6. Huge jump.

I still remember buying it from my game store and being so excited to play it when I got home, on that cold October Saturday afternoon in in 1994. I probably played it all night, with a huge grin on my face.

It's influence is still felt today, what with the HD-3D stuff that SE is doing. (Where TF is DQ3, btw?)

7 was the one that made it big and was a first for a lot of people, but 6 was every bit it's equal as a fantastic game.

I still plan to play FFVI one day. This game's following even this many years later is still very strong. Heard so many things about it but I can't get a clear idea of what it might be like. My only guess is that it's every bit as great as Super Mario RPG except a lot more serious of a game, and with more surprises
