Thread: F-Zero GX rumored to receive Nintendo Switch remaster from Next Level Games
F Zero is a nice franchise, but I don't know if it really needs a remaster. Gamecube games have nice enough graphics already to be honest.

What a coincidence this rumor should pop up following the release of the Metroid Prime remaster.

Too bad F-Zero is even less popular than Metroid, so don't count on it coming back.

The problem with F-Zero is I don't think it offers much that is particularly special for games of its genre, unlike, say, Metroid Prime does.

That's on top of it being a niche subgenre of racing games in the first place.

Bought.

This will be incredibly niche, though -- F-Zero GX was hard AF and most casual players will get frustrated with it.

I'd be so down to get absolutely ass blasted by that single player campaign again. But this time in 1080p. I wonder whether Nintendo would adjust the difficulty for a more modern audience. Older me would appreciate it, not sure I have the patience for Very Hard single player any more.

Some of those master tracks were outrageously hard too, especially the AX Cup.

For sure I can see it. Wouldn't shock me if Nintendo releases a bunch of GC games to ride the Switch into the sunset. They pretty much got everything out of the WiiU. Wii with its motion controls kinda doesn't make it work. and its basically 2 GCs stuck together so going with the GC makes more sense.

F Zero, Metroid 2/3, Wind Waker, any Mario game, heck package all the Mario sports game into one game. Same price point as MP remaster.

It also makes a ton of sense if Nintendo is going to move its bigger teams and franchises onto "Switch 2", to let smaller teams work on porting and sprucing up GC games. Switch is really very much a nostalgia machine now. Most of the exciting things about it in directs are the VC catalogue through online, or older games being ported over to Switch, remaster, remade, straight up ports whatever.

And then you can up res them to 4K and resell them for Switch 2 LOL. Cmon we know Nintendo will do it.

you know thats actually a good idea. Maybe they'll make a melee remaster at some point. I'd like to see a finished version of that game.

I got this game day one in college, I was too drunk and horny to be the kind of gamer it deserved back then but I'm just drunk and horny enough to be the gamer it deserves now.
