A lot of wishful thinking in there OP.

I don't think SE will release FF4-6 in 2D-HD anytime soon. They released the pixel remasters not that long ago, there was a physical reprint late last year.

Atlus specifically said they won't release an upgraded Metaphor, so I doubt they will break that promise so easily.

As much as I love Star Ocean, I don't think we will see SO7 anytime soon or ever tbh. The new games just don't sell that well. A remake of 3 might be possibility but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think this year (and next year) belong to Nintendo and third parties. Microsoft seems burnt out, like a divorced dad relieved to finally hand over the house keys to his ex and be done with it. Sony is also going through some bizarre midlife crisis.

We are hitting that late-generation stride where third parties really pump out the hidden gems. Lots of interesting games coming out in the indie and AA space.

If you're a whore for AAA, my condolences. Other than some bright spots (Death Stranding) it looks devastating right now.

No one ever really thought Xbox, Sony would go all in for Steam, until Master Chief Collection, with Xbox pretty much conceding the console wars in favor of publishing, but Nintendo is also in a vastly better position then either Sony or Xbox with vastly more output of exclusives and sheer competence, at least for now.

Also Hell Yeah to Command and Conquer Remastered Collection 2!

Lol. Atlus has a reputation for a reason. I would be shocked if they did not plan on releasing a upgraded Metaphor, with no upgrade path to force double dipping.

I think the reason that Halo and Gears of War have not been announced for PS5 may be possible reveals for the Switch 2 April Direct.

Maybe I'm crazy but with the Switch 2's rumored dual mouse play style, I think we might see a new Star Fox. For some reason Miyamato thinks each game has to have a new gimmick and Star Fox as a launch window title is a thing for Nintendo consoles.

I also think that Chrono Trigger HD is happening. DQ12 definitely.
