Watch the announcement trailer for Dune Spice Wars, the upcoming real-time strategy game with 4X elements and featuring asymmetrical gameplay, as well as multiple playable factions, and more. Dune Spice Wars, based on the sci-fi novel Dune, is coming to Steam Early Access in 2022.

With the movie out, it makes sense to release a new Dune RTS.
I don't know if Dune is still regarded as a good RTS series, but from an amateur's point of view, I've enjoyed it.
The original was the first RTS I ever played. It was pretty much the template for C&C and most RTS that came after it.

Even if it's only a middling experience, I'm definitely down for this new one.

Great to see a Dune Strat game...though I'd rather have a Turn-based game if I'm honest. Much love for RTS, but I don't have the mindset for that sort of thing now.

I hope this is good. I have been pining over Dune 2000 not being available on steam.

Some of the C&C Remastered streamers had been playing it lately, looks really cool. If they ever remade Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun, it would be awesome to see Dune 2000 in the package.

I'm wondering if it's a 4x in real time or one with an RTS component to the battles. Kind of like how Total War is a Grand Strategy RTS.

Reading through the book for the first time finally and this has me really hyped! Working my way through it slowly so hopefully this turns out good and will be on sale and all patched up for me when I'm ready for it.

RPS said it's good but a little more simplistic, meant for shorter campaigns:

I'm deep in Warhammer III and CK3 right now, so while I see some appeal in a lighter game, I think I'll wait until it's out of early access before diving in.

RPS are not exactly a trusted resource. They were once wonderful, but now, not so much.

I want to pick this up but I rarely like these types of games. I'll wait until it's in full release and then jump in.
