The two movies facing off today are:

The Godfather (1972)

Tropic Thunder (2008)

Two big movies today. While Tropic Thunder is hilarious and edgy, The Godfather is an epic about a strong family fighting to survive against other backstabbing mobster families. The transforming character arc of Michael Corleone is a very interesting thing to watch, with him having to fight dirty to protect his family. While things worked out well by the end of this first movie, with a very satisfying revenge montage at the end, the mobster life isn't so easy for Michael Corleone's character in later instalments.

The Godfather had a great soundtrack with a great theme:

I really love Tropic Thunder and think its comedy genius. but I have to give the Godfather the nod. Its a brilliant film.

I like both, but Tropic Thunder is an easier watch for me.
