Infinity War is one of the MCU's best with a shocker finale.

But come on. It's not going to beat Michael Mann's neo noir crime drama classic. Regardless of the fact that Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino share the screen for the first time in cinema, everything about Heat is phenomenal. The story, cinematography, sound design, editing and those incredibly shot gun fights. Fantastic stuff.

You say that after you promoted voting against Evangelion a couple of weeks ago...

infinity war will be forgotten and considered dated at some point its cgi battles feel really rough around the edges and I personally don't think the marvel flicks tell a interesting story to begin with.

Eva on the other hand at least did something interesting even if it fell flat towards the end.

Infinity War is amazing. Like 15 franchises coming together, an excellent story and a surprise ending. The very best super hero movie ever made and a strong contender for best movie ever made. I've seen it at least 10 times.

Heat is a really well done action movie that I only saw last year because of this competition. Good actors like Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Van Kilmer did some good work. That bank scene was just awesome:

Evangelion was better than infinity war. Actually most movies are better than infinity war. Its just got a massive hype train around it.
What does your dumb anime have to do with anything?

Infinity War is great from the start, focusing on Thanos and how powerful he is, his characterization and performance being really good for a superhero villain. Easily the best of all the Avengers movies and top 3 in the MCU movie franchise. It is the better movie of a two-part finale.

I don't think you know what you're talking about calling it an average Marvel movie. I know it's popular for the internet to hate "capeshit" movies but that "zoomer soyfinity war" comment is just cringe. You could simply say you don't like Marvel movies and that would be fine. I experience superhero movie fatigue as well, don't care for most of the new ones coming out right now, but Infinity War was the culmination of 10 years work and there likely won't be anything else that comes close in regards to a big superhero crossover done right. Endgame was not as good but it doesn't take away from Infinity War being awesome.

All that said, I don't think Heat is bad. I do like '90s movies and I'm a sucker for crime films when done right. I just wouldn't vote for it when it's going up against one of my favorite Marvel movies. If it was Goodfellas or The Departed then that would surely be more difficult to decide for me personally.

I find your anti-anime sentiment bizarre you defend marvel movies but dislike anime? I find most anime to generally have more substance than any marvel movie and they do the exact same things as marvel does.

I don't think I am regurgitating a opinion I believed this before the movie even came out. I loved spiderman as a kid but as I've grown older I find myself liking the character less and less and Capeshit is a term tossed around quite a lot but its deserved criticism. People love that crappy spiderman trilogy they made back in the 2000s and why is completely beyond me especially the third one which was a pain to sit through.

As for the latest mcu films I didn't really watch all the films and have no interest in doing so their stories are predictable. Age of ultron was another one of those superhero flicks I barely even remember. Outside of the robot badguy the thor clone with the chaos emerald in his forehead and some mario bros reference I don't remember much about it and I recall it took too long to get to the part that everyone was actually watching it for which was the action. As for infinity war that should've been the last film in the series. Endgame was very redundant with a really underwhelming cgi battle that didn't even feel real at all and story that dragged on for way too long as the films usually do. The fast forward button was very useful when your watching marvel flicks at least.

And before you get angry and say stfu weeb I'll criticise anime a little here for being formulaic as well after all dragonball super kinda sucked. Anime studios don't know their beating a dead horse until its way too late as shown with dbs. What was even the point of trying to fix what dbgt broke if you weren't going to make a initiative to make something that was actually better?

What is anti-anime about me not liking Evangelion? I voted for a couple Hayao Miyazaki movies in this tournament because I feel they are genuinely great movies with exceptional art and animation on top of featuring decent voice acting.

I simply don't like all or most anime just like I don't like all or most superhero movies. You think the original Spider-Man movie trilogy is crap. I think the first two movies are great. I also like Homecoming and No Way Home. I like No Way Home more than Spider-Man 2. Unpopular opinion but it's my own. People like the 1989 Batman movie but I don't much care for it and prefer Batman Begins. I'm pretty selective with the MCU movies as well. Iron Man, The Avengers, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: No Way Home are all great while other installments range from bad to okay.

As for Infinity War, I have to question what you are even talking about when you call it woke and full of soy. Or do you not remember anything about the movie to really explain why it is those things, like you don't remember anything about the other MCU movies?

hes a troll.

I dislike marvel movies for the most part. As for the trolling sometimes I like to be funny with what I say and I mean no harm by it but you really thought I was completely serious when I said Misato's penguin would've made a better protagonist? And it really wasn't just me saying it wasn''t that good either there were others who said that as well and there were plenty of other articles to back up what I was saying about the show. It started a weird trend of anime having pseudo-philosophical tones written by people who more than likely don't even understand philosophy.

But yeah excuse me for being critical of a television show. How dare I do criticize a television show that I didn't like.

I apologize for saying that.

I liked both batman movies I think I saw the first avengers movie a while ago thought it was alright I thought civil war was okay but out of all of those I like the batman movies the best.

To rephrase what I said I just don't care much about superheros haven't since I was a teenager. I don't want to say its all crap there's some decent films but mainly I'm very critical of mediocre things that are heavily marketed as some cinematic masterpiece. I also understand not liking all the shows and movies one watches thats fine with me. That is your own opinion.

But the thing I dislike the most about these kinds of films is that their always rebooted constantly. I just find that off putting about them like they can't come up with something original for once? I like the films when they have some form of originality to them.

I kinda said that as a joke.

Missed the vote, but albeit I think Infinity War was pretty solid as far as MCU films go (Endgame sadly was a letdown and it's been ever decreasing returns since), HEAT is on another level .

So what would be the other 2 of your top 3 in the MCU? I don't watch that many modern superhero movies but I've heard that the Thor and Hulk collaboration movies are fun and silly.

I think the actors and acting was really well done in that trilogy. Toby Maguire had a good range as Spiderman and the actors for Green Goblin, Harry and JJ were good as well.

especially the third one which was a pain to sit through.

You just can't handle the swagger of Toby Maguire:

I agree with your thoughts on originality. I think thats why I prefer DC movies to Marvel ones, even though I don't watch many modern DC movies either. The 90s Batman quadrilogy was fantastic and I like the original Superman movie as well (I've only seen the first one, I might have seen bits of the other Christopher Reeve ones). I think the characters in DC movies are a little more original and fleshed out than the Marvel ones, but that is just my opinion. It seems to me that the Marvel characters are a lot more cookie cutter than DC ones, while DC has fewer instalments but they are often a bit more fleshed out.

I agree that DC does have better heroes such as batman and superman but marvel really has never been as interesting to me as DC superheros are. Marvel is pretty cookie cutter with what it does with its humor and such. The jokes in it are pretty annoying while the DC films stay serious the whole time.

But the thing is when it comes to originality concerning rebooting these franchises I dislike the constant rebooting over and over again. That was why western comics have taken a giant hit because they were nothing but these same 100 different franchises from two different companies. I mean sure there were others but western comics were mainly know as a superhero thing and its hurt the medium's perception and sales. People became tired of watching the same characters be reincarnated for the ten thousandth time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is my favorite, then Avengers: Infinity War, and Iron Man.
