I know Halloween is a horror classic but got to go with those damned dirty apes.

Halloween is at or near the top of many people's GOAT horror movies. Halloween for me.

Halloween is too vanilla. It's not scary at all.

Planet of the Apes is a sci-fi classic.

Voting Planet of the Apes for the sole reason that Jamie Lee Curtis and Blumhouse have completely ruined the entire Halloween franchise with Kills and Ends.

This is a tough on as I love both. Its a case of a great film (Halloween) and a great story (PotA).

Probably leaning Halloween due to how well it is made. Great camera work, excellent sense of atmosphere to create a creeping suspense. A prime PJ Soles topless doesnt hurt its case either.

Halloween is not my type of movie, so I voted for Planet of the Apes instead. Planet of the Apes is a good movie, with good acting from Charlton Heston and an interesting story. I'm not sure how the sequels were but the first movie was good at least.
