Thread: DPAD Top Movies Face/Off Round 2: 300 v Evil Dead 2
300 was an awesome movie during a time when there wasn't too many good movies out. It's an interesting historical war movie as well. As for the movie itself, the movie had its own interesting style, with a good stylistic contrast between the gritty Spartan leader and the lavish Persian leader. It had a well written story as well as good characters in my view. A pretty good effort.

300 is at last some fun. Evil Dead is just one of a million generic horror slashers.
This one is tough. I like both, but don't love either. I much prefer ED to ED2. (For those who are not aware, they are the same story. ED2 is a essentially a remake that initially plays into the campiness)
300 was fun, lots great action. I also enjoyed the "waves" of different Persian forces attacking. But ultimately the film is style over substance and the style has not aged all that well.
