This is a tough one, I think I have at least 2 of my nominations on here and I've seen the rest of them except Pitch Black. I think I'll have to think about my choice for a little while.

Robocop all the way. At first glance you think it's just a standard 80's action film with a scifi bent. But upon further analysis you find out it's an incredibly damning satire of corporate 80's America. It's a shame the subsequent sequels couldn't match it's brilliance.

Only others I've watched here are Shrek and Pitch Black. Shrek is funny, but not really not special for me. Pitch Black I've never watched in full, but what I saw was pretty good.

I think I will go for Shrek too. So many goo films in this one, but if I was going to choose between them to watch just for fun it would be Shrek. I love the other movies too (other than Pitch Black which I haven't seen yet) but I think less serious movies are a lot more relaxing to watch and unwind with.

Shaking my head right now seeing Shrek losing to RoboCop. Sure, Robocop is good, but it's not timeless good like The Terminator or The Thing. If only Verhoeven had added a funny talking donkey to counter-balance Murphy's lost humanity, but the technology just wasn't there yet in '87.

There's plenty of dark humor in Verhoeven films, Robocop is probably funnier than Shrek.

I've not seen North By Northwest but I expected at least a few votes for it. Nobody likes it?
I do really like it, but I have a soft spot for Shrek since it is nearer to my time and I saw it when it was out. Also, the love interest and the main character were a bit unbalanced. I mean I guess Cary Grant looks okay, but not good enough for a woman that beautiful to be up in arms over him.
