Both movies are great but Empire Strikes Back, standing on its own, is a bit too anticlimactic for my tastes. In fact out of the Original Trilogy, it is the only one that doesn't really feel fulfilling on its own. Attack of the Clones is sort of similar, but at least Anakin gets married at the end of that movie. There is no resolution of any kind at the end of ESB.
Commando on the other hand is a self contained action film with no sequels or prequels or anything like that. It has a beginning, middle and end with a great resolution that ends with Arnie getting his daughter back and a girlfriend as well. It is a great watch, like ESB, but it doesn't need a sequel like Return of the Jedi to actually resolve all of its issues.
