I....don't know what to think about this tbh. Eternal started leaning much more into this goofy lore and it was ehhh. Does anyone really give a shit about this story nonsense? I liked what 2016 Doom did in that regard, though in many was Eternal added a lot to the gameplay and the flow of the gameplay that I appreciated.

This though...ehh? "Before he became a hero....he was a super weapon..OF GODS". What? Who asked for this? But fine whatever, as long as the gameplay holds up, and after the two previous games I would assume that will be the case. You certainly couldn't tell from that trailer, it barely looked like gameplay, more like some carefully curated content. Like walking through a fun house. I'd like to see some real deal gameplay before passing further judgement I guess.

Though this whole medieval aesthetic is really corny af though. Fuckin dragons and shit? Really?

Eternal sucked, don't know about this one. The little gameplay they showed looks fine, but yeah, the aesthetic has me worried. Doom Slayer in a furry cape? Riding a dragon? I wasn't going to buy day one after Eternal let me down, but even if I had enjoyed that, I'd be a bit skeptical of this.

I don't care about any of that. It looks cool and is almost certainly gonna be fun as hell.

2016 started with a dumbass storyline, Eternal just added to it. Stopped caring about all of it and just want a fun game to play.

The lore of Doom hasn't been great but this looked dope from a gameplay stance. Looks like they are leaning into a more melee stuff which is wild to think about.

In ID I trust in the game play department.

That looks rad. I would have preferred more of a medieval fantasy lean like Hexen, but I'll take it!

Should have been Hexen or Heretic. Phil had it on his t-shirt a while back. But it looks like they just gonna shove all ideas fit for a Quake or Hexen into Doom because Doom is a bigger brand.

Yep, until they debase that brand enough. Then they will revive a 'classic franchise'.... and repeat the cycle.

This actually looks like they wanted to make something else, but of course no way is ID allowed to go back to Quake or make anything else but Doom. Still looks cool though, and I'm not too worried anyways since I already have my Doom fix with ULTRAKILL.

Looking forward to it. Seems like they're switching up the artstyle again from Eternal, which was arcadey, but I liked it.

What made the backstory interesting was how subtly they alluded to it in 2016. I don't think it works as well when they show you all of it up front. But it's the gameplay that matters, and the team clearly gets that.

Wish we had a new Quake or Heretic but this is probably the closest we are going to get so I will take it. The setting looks awesome and the focus on melee is a nice change of pace

Looks pretty bloody rad to me. 2016 and Eternal are the only FPS's since Titanfall 2 that have really done it for me, so I'd be there for this regardless, but it genuinely looks fantastic to me.

Yea I'm down for this. Doom is ridiculous. This looks ridiculous. Sign me up.

Certainly going to be different, which is probably necessary.

Also let's get a DM mode this time. Even that cheapo DM/TDM in '16 was better than Eternal's Battlemode.

Yeah, I was thinking this game would work better as a Heretic/Hexen game, but those IP aren't that famous anymore so Doom it is. I did really enjoy Eternal, so we'll see where this goes.

Very curious about the id tech improvements here. Trailer looked incredible.

Gameplay and art style wise, going into a better direction that Eternal. Digging it.
