Here we go!
My quick takeaways:
- great results and a big visual improvement
- even with RT, high fps are easily achievable, especially on Nvidia GPUs
- good mix of SSR and raytracing
- DLSS can be combined with the dynamic resolution scaler, with minimal impact on image quality
- consoles use 1/3 res for the reflections and PCs medium settings for RT
- therefore missing reflections on rougher surfaces. Still a significant upgrade and nice looking.
- regarding other settings, consoles use the ultra preset with 1800p with dynamic resolution
- DLSS performance mode (1080p to 4k) looks "vastly superior" to the console image quality
- even 1800p DLSS balanced mode (native 900p) has better image quality on PC. In part because....
- very low anisotropic filtering on consoles, in my opinion shockingly so. Looks blurry as fuck. Look at 10:53.
- high fps easily achievable with any modern CPU
- for GPUs, generally anything above ultra settings doesn't make a lot of sense
- even a RTX2060 with DLSS can get around 120fps with raytracing and still looking great
- for owners of a high end GPU, you can even further customize RT settings in the console after enabling it with cheat engine. Like increasing the amount of rough surfaces with RT reflections, which looks great but is very expensive.
So all in all, great showing on PC. And very good on consoles, especially taking into account that we have RT reflections with high fps on such budget hardware. Pretty impressive.
