Just curious mostly.
I got it off the eShop a few months back and have put in a few hours here and there. I actually think it's a pretty fun game. Combat is limited, screen tearing is present, looks like a PS3 game, plays like a solid PS2 game, gunplay feels fine when you tweak the settings a bit.
The story is delivered in a fun way, it's like the movie Commando crossed with a Saturday Morning Cartoon.
For $60 I would certainly be underwhelmed but I think it's totally worth $30, there are far worse games for the same price.
Ultimately, I think this game is a case of reviewers seeing something that can be easily mocked and dog piled, gamers jumping in cause it's easy to shit on something when you don't engage it on it's level, and a publisher who clearly sent it out to die. Why can't corny action games be simply that? What's wrong with reveling in a big ham fisted schlock fest?
Here's a clip from the beginning of the 2nd level. I think it captures the camp vibe well, especially when Ivan says, "I'm off the leash..." and then jumps out of the airplane.
What say you D-Padr's? Do we have a Devil's Turd on our hands, or Devil's Third a fun romp into an era largely relegated to the past?
