Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Kojima Productions have announced Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PlayStation 5.

More information is due out in the coming weeks.

Aside from an obvious graphical upgrade very curious to see what Kojima adds to the experience given one presumes the first game didn't suffer from much interference. Also.. absolutely coming to PC at some point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I'm hoping if there is some additional content on PC it's either free or paid DLC versus an all-out remaster version.

I've been on the edge of buying this game for so long. A free or cheap upgrade will make me pull the trigger 😊.

If its full price only I'd expect significant upgrades like Persona 5 Royal.

Yeah, I really hope it's a free upgrade when it eventually comes to PC. I bought it there on a steep discount but haven't booted it up yet (played it on PS4 Pro when it first came out, so was in no rush).

Game never really clicked with me. Love Kojima games. If it's free or cheap (~$10) I'd snag and play again once my backlog is tackled.

It's a flawed game, but mechanistically think it possesses some great aspects (the Traversal mechanics are dope tbh). I thought it was interesting in Kojima's short interview that he might have tacitly acknowledged that DS might not have been 'Fun' in terms of what he said.

I don’t get the trailer. I’ve played most of the Metal gear games but not Death Stranding. Were boxes used in that game too?

The cardboard box with the oranges is a reference to the MGS2 item (at least that's how I interpreted it):

Maybe I drank too much last night… but I actually took the reference to mean “look anyone can replace Solid Snake and we can make MGS games without the ip” as a hint to his next game a MGS-less MGS game.

As for this director cut…. I truly wish I hadn’t played DS so I could play it again for the first time. Such a brilliant game, but hot damn is that first few hours slow and grueling. Not sure I have another 60 hours to do it again.

That's probably not too far from the truth

I started the game on PC and am maybe 4-5 hours into it. I stopped playing when the director's cut was announced last year. I'd really like some details on exactly what is included because I'm really interested in playing again.

If you like Mudrunner and Snowrunner this is the game for you, if not then... yeah it's not for you.

I am not sure this would hold as gospel, tbh. I adore Snowrunner (over 100 hours and will pour more in the next year or two), but after about 12 hours with Death Stranding, I am starting to question why the fuck I am "playing" this.

How the fuck did anyone enjoy this piece of shit 😂

For some of the sam reasons I enjoyed BOTW so much. The exploration and terrain traversal. So much "Whats over there?" "whats that?" "I bet I could get up there." and so on. Maybe it takes a the right mindset, but that shit clicks with me. And where DS did things better than was with the story. Yes, DS story is a bit contrived at times, but then there are other bits were truly moving (I am Fragile, but I am not fragile!!). Overall an incredibly slick package.
