I'm a man who loves a nice compact SUV. They really are the jack of all trades of vehicles.

While there's nothing sexy or flashy about them, they handle well in adverse weather, get great gas mileage (my 2016 VW Tiguan averages 27 mpg) , and have lots of room for storage. Unless you're towing something super heavy, I'm not really sure what else you could ask for.

I don't think I'd ever go back to driving a sedan. I can see why these things almost completely replaced both them and minivans. Seriously like 80% of what I see on the road is a compact SUV.

For the average citizen who just needs a grocery getter for basic transportation, they're perfect.

Who else here drives one?

We use a RAV4 to get around for the most part. Great vehicle with usually just enough space.

I have a hatchback Toyota Yaris, and it's always hilarious whenever there's any kind of road blockage, adverse weather or slightly unusual issue that these yuppy 4x4's drivers are immediately stumped by, and often end up cackhandedly turning around and running away from, or abandoning their pristine, shiny giant toys to walk, as I potter by happily in a front wheel drive vehicle that weighs less than their engine, easily getting through mud, snow or flood waters they're either too afraid to get their car dirty from, or are stuck in.

Basically, if you have a 4x4 and it's not filthy, scratched to pieces and clearly used because you NEED one, then there's a 99% chance you're a trophy wife or poofter that can't drive properly.

I'm looking to buy a 2005-2006 Jeep LJ Unlimited next year, unless I can find a decent International Harvester Scout A800 or Scout II.

I want to build up a low center of gravity on 37's do everything build (overland, rock crawling, camping, etc..) for off roading.
