What's up D-bags?

With the recent talk of public launch possibly happening in the next couple of weeks I thought it would be a good time to try to rouse this rabble into creating some content. We've done a great job so far with particular shout outs to @Mista @cryptoadam and @Cryptek for the stellar job they've been doing making so many threads and getting the conversation going. I feel like I personally need to up my game though. I've made a few threads but could do more to help give us some momentum for launch. So, I'm going to commit to make at least one thread per day until launch. I will also post more in others' threads and, while I'm keen as a Lima bean to get my shitpost on, my focus in the short term is going to be on fostering discussion, growing the site, and bringing in new blood to cyberbully. Who's with me?

Cheers mate. I am actually happy with the activity we have. We started so well and we can just continue building on that

This is all happening before even going public. Don't feel forced to make threads if you don't feel like it cause thats alright

We will be getting more and more people as we go on. Lets also see how things go from there

Fuck you too, you lippy cunt.

I mean I try and reply to as many threads as I can be arsed, but making new ones is a bit more effort and a commitment to a vague minimum of quality.

I'll try making threads next week, but I generally don't use the Internet on weekends, and plan to get shit faced and shag my wife after work tonight, then do some gaming before having an early night, due to an early start tomorrow, so maybe in 3 days I'll have a go.

Fuckin THIS TBH...
Like literally.. Almost word for word.
My weekends are too busy. I'll try to make some threads next week.

1.) Good thread, agreed!

2.) Everyone post in the anime-thread! There's 2 threads a good gaming forum needs: A reliable Media-Create/Famitsu-thread each Thursday, and an active anime community. It is the law.

3.) And now I'll create a new thread before I make lunch, fresh trout with potatoes! .... and now I have a thread idea!

@Mista's right. We shouldn't force it.
I mean, by all means, make threads if you have ideas. But if you're struggling to think of something, it's ok. We don't want a heap of low quality threads just because people are trying to come up with something just for the sake of it.

All I'm saying is pause and think. If it's a good idea, do it. If you can't think of one, that's fine. Maybe next time.

Who said anything about forcing it?

Fuckin smoothbrains ITT

I try to make a thread every time something I'm interested in pops up (Usually, I'm more interested in gaming stuff). That usually gives me one a day, if not more.

I think the key is to just have fun with it. Post stuff that's fun to you, get out of your comfort zone a little (the spotlight can be intimidating, but we're all friends here), and just have a good time. The rest follows naturally. Same with replies.

I don't think thread numbers matter as much as posts per thread.
The average number of posts per thread is about 14. And has been for quite a while.
That suggests to me that most threads are fairly trivial, and not holding people's attention.
Wouldn't it be better to try to build up a history of the community-type stuff, rather than a shitload of random shitpost threads.

I pretty much stick to Chill, and have no interest in World, but the numbers speak for themselves.
And, honestly, I can still tell that there are at least 200 threads in World, last I looked at the thread totals on the front page. In my opinion, that's fuckin ridiculous.

I'm not big on thread creation, I'll do it when I want to talk about something I see that no one else has started.

Slug is correct I think, a few umbrella threads with constant or regular activity are more important than having 7 pages of threads that are DOA.

Most of my contributions are in the funny pics/clown world threads

Both are ideal. Lots of fresh material moving through the site, and lots of meaningful conversation happening as a result. It's definitely a balance.

As far as the thread numbers, I'm really happy with them. All three sections are popping some fairly huge thread and reply numbers, given how long we've been open, and I haven't really seen any low quality material, aside from intentional joke threads.

I specifically said in the OP that I'm going to tone down my shitposting and focus on trying to generate discussion. I don't want a bunch of random shitpost threads, at least not yet. I'm going to do my best to create interesting/funny threads without being too in-jokey. I can't force people to post, and wouldn't want to anyway as forced content isn't interesting. If it gets some discussion going, that's great. If not, that's ok, I'll keep trying.

I'm going to commit to make at least one thread per day until launch. They are going to be amazing threads, detailed, and with a lot of thought behind them in order to maximise responses. It's going to be epic.
I'm feeling pumped. I might actually make 3 per day, IDK.
Where the threads at bro? Lettin' me down.
