I love Elvis, but I hate music biopics, as they always follow the same tired story beats. Plus, you can't squeeze a man's whole life into a two-hour movie; you always end up with a kind of "greatest hits" overview: remember when he did this? Remember when he did that?

Also, I can already tell that, for woke reasons, they're going to absolutely virtue-signal how Elvis learned everything he knew from black people, in order to placate the "Elvis was only popular 'cause he was white" Twitter crowd.

They're showing how influenced he was from the black church community. Much respect for baz. Now if only we can get a "The Get down" season 2 green lit on Netflix.
This looks incredible, i am so glad they have included how the African American culture played a significant role in Elvis upbringing and inspiring his creativity.
