Developed by Game Studio, SYNDUALITY is a science-fiction third-person shooter set in a dystopian futuristic world where humans and AI must co-exist and cooperate to survive.
SYNDUALITY takes place in 2222, years after a mysterious poisonous rain called "The Tears of the New Moon" wiped out most of humanity and birthed deformed creatures that now hunt the population. Amidst the calamity, humans are forced to build an underground haven named Amasia, where they discover and begin to collaborate with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.
In the game, players will step in the shoes of the Drifters, people who make a living collecting AO crystals, a rare resource available on Earth. In this quest they must face xenomorphic creatures known as Enders, and they will be able to count on Magus, their AI partners, to guide them through their journey, help them in fights, and provide direction, hints, and warning. All the while, they will be developing and strengthening the bond between player and AI. Gameplay and combat in SYNDUALITY centers around Cradle Coffins, armed vehicles in which players will be roaming on the surface and can fully personalize, from appearance to weapon loadouts, to fit their own playstyle. SYNDUALITY will also have multiplayer, with other Drifters joining players to help them in their missions or turn against them, hindering their progress or fighting to loot their precious resources.
Hello! My name is Yosuke Futami, the producer of SYNDUALITY. On behalf of the team, we are excited to finally reveal our brand-new science-fiction third-person shooter game from Bandai Namco Entertainment.
It all started a couple of years back when our team grouped together and passionately discuss how can we break ourselves into—or even break the whole barrier, of the science-fiction genre. With the emergence of technology these days, and how artificial intelligence slowly becoming more prominent in our daily lives, we were particularly interested in how humans and AI would interact with each other in the future. Will they coexist? Do they have the same belief on feelings, or sense of emotion? Can they intertwine? Those were the questions that eventually became an exodus of this project, and hopefully you would join us to figure out together the adventures that lies ahead of them.
SYNDUALITY is set in a dystopian future where poisonous rain and deformed creatures wreak havoc on the world, where you and you AI partner must find a way to work together and reclaim lost ground for humanity. Adding to the excitement, we have partnered with prominent designers Neco (for character design) and Gyobu (for mech design) to bring their unique science-fiction style to the game. Please check out the reveal trailer below for a first look at the game.
The World of Amasia

In this new built dystopian city, on a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.

World and Story
2099. The poisonous blue rain "Blueschist" rained down on the earth. It was a calamity that continued for weeks. The "Tears of the New Moon," as it was called, wiped out 92 percent of the world's population. The humans that survived abandoned the surface to build the underground city-state of Amasia.
2222. Amasia has become a prosperous city in pursuit of sustainable happiness, but an incident of unknown origin causes its collapse overnight.
Some time has passed since then, and you, a Drifter in pursuit of AO Crystals, spend your days roaming the hazardous earth aboard your bipedal armed vehicle known as a "Cradle Coffin." With your one-of-a-kind partner Magus watching your back.
Tears of the New Moon
The name of the event that occurred on the night of the new moon in 2099. An unknown, deadly poison, later named "Blueschist," stormed down on the earth. The rain was deep-blue, not clear, and simply touching it could kill a person. The resulting environment made it extremely difficult for humanity to continue to live on the surface, so the survivors built an underground city to escape the deadly Blueschist.
Amasia
A huge underground city-state built by those who survived the Tears of the New Moon. It is a city where everything from infrastructure to birth rate is regulated by artificial intelligence, and citizens are guaranteed a prescribed standard of living. The center of the city is lit by a huge cluster of AO Crystals.
AO Crystals
Energy crystals that have grown on the surface since the Tears of the New Moon. In this new era, AO Crystals can be converted into electricity and used as a new energy source. Since AO Crystals only exist on the surface, Drifters must mine for them on a regular basis.
Enders
Creatures that roam the surface said to be a natural enemy of humanity. Humans and artificial intelligence confront them in armed vehicles.
■ Characters
ADA (voiced by Yui Ishikawa)
—Magus
A humanoid easily mistakable for a human, with an artificial intelligence that thinks like a human. A reliable partner who rides with the player on the Cradle Coffin, and provides a wide range of support from exploration to combat. Each Magus has its own personality and appearance, and each player has a unique Magus that accompanies them. ADA is the Magus partner of Drifter Alba Kuze.
Alba Kuze (voiced by Yuuya Hirose)
—Drifter
Those who make a living scavenging for resources, including AO Crystals—energy crystals that have grown on the surface since the Tears of the New Moon. Originally meaning "vagabond," the term was used with reverence for "those who could wander the harsh land." Alba Kuze is a young Drifter who operates the Cradle Coffin "Bowie Rabbit" with his Magus partner ADA.
■ Cradle Coffin
Bowie Rabbit
—Cradle Coffin
A bipedal armed vehicle operated by a human pilot and their Magus partner. Also known as a pan-weather bipedal cruiser. It is equipped with various armaments for its inevitable encounters against Enders, as well as to adapt to the harsh environment when gathering AO Crystals. The box on its back is called a "coffin," and the part where the pilot enters is called the "cradle." Bowie Rabbit is the armed vehicle given to the Drifter Alba Kuze.
