I made a homemade pizza yesterday. It tasted good.
I've put some paprika, lots of onions, sausage, chunks of salami and a generous amount of cheese.

I made eclairs this weekend. The choux pastry was a bitch to bake properly and I ruined the first batch, but the second attempt was fairly successful.

They are filled with chocolate diplomat creme and glazed with chocolate ganache.

Ha! No. If you are gona do something wrong, do it right. There is sugar, milk, chocolate, whipping cream, double cream, butter .... all the wonderful vices!

I give away 80% of what I bake, so on a weekly basis I only have like 2 or 3 desserts. I had friends over for dinner on Sunday, so they ate most of them (plus the 4 pizzas I baked).

How does one become your friend? Is there, like, an application process or something?

And finally I made some empanadas filled with chunky rib meat, peppers, aubergines and boiled egg. I still need to practice my dough/dumpling folding technique, because I really suck at it.

My molten chocolate cakes unfortunately were overcooked and were not liquid in the center. Tasty, but next time I want the liquid goodness!

You're on fire! If I had those baking skills and that passion, I'd be a fat motherfucker.

Dude if you made those. 10 fucking 10. They look absolutely delicious. 🤤
Thanks! Yeah, I've made all of these things I post in this thread. The tarts were not bad at all, but as with a lot of my baking, because it was the first time I made small tarts (and this chocolate creme patissiere actually), they can be vastly improved. In this particular instance, half the tart bottoms did not stick properly to the side ring. But at least during assembly they managed to retain shape.

They were tasty though, but I can make them better next time hopefully.

For comparison, here is what my first attempt at making a tart (I don't remember what the cream is, it's been over half a decade since I made this) looked like

Clearly looks like a mess!

Or my first scones, years ago:

And the latest ones:

I am planning on doing this for a living later in life after I retire from my current career path (which will probably happen sooner than later, as I am itching for a change of pace in life). Baking once a week might not improve my skills fast, but I am encouraged by the fact that I have learned enough to manage to make most things successfully on the first try. So my thinking now is, if nowadays the very first time I make a new dessert it is good enough, then if I make it ten or twenty more times, the improvements I can make on it will be significant.

Sorry, I am rumbling! Thank you for the nice comment, it encourages me!

Some baking from the last couple of weeks...

I made some 40% corn bread (60% normal white bread flour) and it turned out lovely thick and crunchy.

This just looks so fucking good to me. I love a good, chewy piece of bread with a crunchy crust. I could easily eat that loaf in a single sitting.

This thread is delicious. I like to cook meats and pasta but seeing your guys' photos makes me want to try baking my own desserts and homemade pizzas.

Man, I'm starting to regret I've found this thread. So many delicious things!

@Dreamlord what oven do you use for baking? Common electric oven with top and bottom heat?
