I'm looking forward to this one. The game has no romances and reviews say you can actually be an evil sob here. Plus your choices having a huge impact on the quests & ending. Pentiment was very well written so I still have faith in Obsidian even though I didn't like the Outer Worlds.

No romance is a deal breaker. A CRPG like Avowed in 2025 should not have less features then a RPG like Baldurs Gate 2 from 1998.

Also the reduced character options and classes from Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2. No Chanter or even Cipher which are sort of Pillars actual iconic classes.

Also switching to 1st person instead of the perfectly fine overhead view of Pillars 1/2.

While this sort of stuff might not be necessarily a deal breaker when it comes to a purchase decision, it's pretty disappointing that Avowed has such pathetic world interaction, especially when compared to a game released nearly two decades ago. That goes for just object interaction and the more complex stuff like how guards deal with npcs.

The world just looks so....dead. Like you're walking through a diorama or something, look but don't touch. It's especially jarring to see Avowed juxtaposed against Kingdom Come Deliverance II where your actions have very logical real world consequences.
