I dunno how to feel about it. It's kinda weird hearing someone talk like a twitter user in an old fantasy setting. The art style seems cool and there are times when I think it looks great graphically, but the collisions in the combat just kinda look janky. Reminds me of Morrowind in a weird way.

It reminds me of a first person Dragon Age Inquisition.

Character designs are somewhere between plasticine, Oblivion meme and PSX cutscene uncanny valley. Combat looks stiff and the colour palette is only adding to all the aforementioned grievances. I don't expect this game will do well tbh.

Some of the environments look nice but the overall design is very unappealing to me and I totally agree, I don't see it doing well, even if the game turns out to be good.

The combat looks extremely gimped. Not much of a step up from Morrowind tbh. Enemies were basically queuing to hit the player and the attack animations were super jank. Wouldn't be surprised if the VA is AI based. Dunno if this is just an early build, but it doesn't really look like a studio that cut their teeth on Fallout New Vegas. Maybe (likely, judging by the devs in the video) they've woked themselves up to the nines like every other Western AAA studio and bad hiring is showing its ass much more blatantly in the final product.

Combat looks so weightless to me. There are hit reactions, sure, but it seems a bit floaty. I like how colourful the world is and I have to imagine the dialogue and story will be half decent with a lot of agency and player choice available.

Have Obsidian made any mention of how long we can expect this game to be? If it's smaller in scope like Outer Worlds then it might be worth a punt, I suppose I should be happy that I have a Game Pass sub...

I was so excited for this, so you can imagine how deflating it is to see this preview and feel very underwhelmed.

While I agree with everyone's comments about the combat looking 'floaty' and lacking impacts.... still looks pretty fun to me. I will wait for some hands on reports on this one to.

For sure, I will definitely still play it out to see what it is like but I am just not impressed with what's been shown currently. Hopefully it feels better to play than just watching footage on YT.

There are only a few games that make me go all negative, but there's literally nothing appealing to me here, I think it looks like total garbage. From the visuals, to the stiff ass stupid dialogue, combat with that shitty looking stick, the enemy design, the effects, the world design... I'm rarely that turned off.

Finally watched this. And all I have to say is "EEEEEHHH???" Let me start with the visuals, they look kind of repulsive to be honest. To me, it looked like an rpg from the OG Xbox era. The gameplay looks way to actiony for my taste. Character models don't look impressive, and the dialogue is way too modern for a fantasy game.

Disappointing. I expected better of Obsidian.

I got the impression that some of the enemies in there has their AI turned off so the devs could showcase the weapon mechanics. There were definitely some bull-shots of aggressive enemies in that show.
