As reported by NStyles, during the Q&A portion of the meeting one shareholder asked if the company had any plans for new titles or remakes related to past IPs.

They then specifically mentioned games by name they'd like to see, including F-Zero, Baten Kaitos, Wario Land, The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls, Trade & Battle: Card Hero and Chōsōjū Mecha MG.

Nintendo's general manager of EPD Shinya Takahashi is said to have replied (as translated by VGC):

Regarding remakes of older titles, we are thinking about a wide range of interesting ways to try new and old things. We received a similar question before. At that time, we happened to have a remake planned, so we discussed it, but there are things I cannot say right now.

there is really no reason that we shouldn't have gotten a new fzero the last one made a 1.5 million and scored a 84 on metacritic

whats the deal with that?
Nintendo being Nintendo probably couldn't think up an interesting gimmick for the franchise, even though the core racing of GX is so good that a gimmick wouldn't be needed for a sequel.

Honestly, just give me a GX remaster (including AX content) at this point and I guarantee it'll sell 2m+ copies.Throw in an online multiplayer component and it'll be even better.

We're approaching almost 20 years since that game released and we've had absolutely nothing. Criminal.

I'd love to see a new F Zero. But there's a reason they didn't release one in ages. Times have changed and futuristic arcade racers aren't the hottest thing anymore. They do market research and if there'd be this huge demand, with a chance of them making a ton of cash, they would've done it already.

That said, I hope they do a new F Zero and that it'll.be a success.

A good game is a good game. We all thought survival horror was basically dead but the success of REmake2 revitalized the genre. Roguelikes were dead until Demon Souls came along. There may not be an active market right now, but make a good game and let it speak for itself, I'm sure it will find an audience. Especially with the Switch, everything Nintendo puts out on it sells 2+ million easily.

It's crazy to think of all the money Nintendo has left on the table by not remastering titles in their vast library. Even minor upgrades like F-Zero in 4K at 60 FPS.

Rather than minimal effort they'd rather put no effort and instead being poorly emulated N64 titles to Switch online.

I'd buy it, if they included a good chunk of tracks, cars, and modes. Mario Kart 8 is still the one to beat and I won't accept a paltry list of cars/tracks just because Nintendo is bringing the series back for the first time since GCN.

I miss Wipeout. I miss Jet Moto. I miss Star Wars Podracer. Redout was okay, and there are a few others similar to Wipeout but Nintendo could refresh a dying sub-genre with a single F-Zero game.

or revive it.

Do we know how many shares this guy has? Cause while they would probably outwardly be open to discussing that with any shareholder, I'm betting if he just holds 3 shares they're not really going to the question seriously internally.
